Thank you. It will be PL'd with feedback posted herein.

By the way, do not include the [ ] in the file name - they are shown in the first posting only to indicate what you customize in the file name. So your file name should have been https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/perjurdhusband_stagedirections_2_128kb.mp3 .

No need to change it here now since I will cut your file apart to make the master file with all the reader inputs in it. But in book and poetry projects, where what you send is what gets cataloged, you do have to have it named correctly.

Thanks, Todd

wohooo, great job you did here, thank you so much. You really read carefully through the text and chose all the right stage directions and read them flawlessly. Well done for your first time doing this.

Well...actually you missed one ;) but still, it was a great job.

Could you please insert the following into your old file at the correct spots and reupload ? As Todd mentioned already, the file name should not include brackets, so you can change that one at the same time:

> at about 2:56: please insert: "Ludovico, kisses it"

> at 3:11: "Bassino aside" I think the first sentence is said as aside, so the name needs to be included. Sometimes it's challenging to find out what is the aside and what not, they are not always placing it at the correct spot in old scripts (very annoying sometimes, I agree)

Thanks, and I think you'll have no trouble with acts 3-5. For Act 1 there are a few more details for the cast list, but I'll explain more to when you get there. Easy bites first.

wow you've been busy, thank you so much for the fast turn-around :)

Act 3 is straight PL ok already.

A few PL notes for the other two acts though:

Act 4:
> at about 2:14: please insert: "reads"

> at about 3:14: please insert: "Lucy to Pizalto"

Act 5:
> at 0:01: the whole intro disclaimer is missing here

> at 0:35: "Ludovico, aside" - the first part is the aside, so the name needs to be included

> at about 1:54: please insert the "aside" from 1:59 here, as it belongs to before "exit Florella"

> at about 3:58: since it's the final section of the project, we also need the final outro: "End of The Perjur'd Husband, or The Adventures of Venice, by Susannah Centlivre"

thanks

I was feeling servile for this play, and my four servantish parts are in the MW for PL.

Note that I will use a single voice credit for page, servant, and singer.

Thanks, Todd

thank you, definitely now PL ok :)

Now to the ominous Act 1. You see there is a Prologue, but it will be read by one of the character voices, so your job is to simply add the title, right after the intro: "The Prologue, by a gentleman. Spoken by Mrs Oldfield"

Then follows the tricky addition of the entire cast list, in the order of the cast list in the book and what is important, reading the whole character description and adding "read by", so in this case, you would read right after the disclaimer:
"Dramatis Personae / Men / Count Bassino, a Savoyard, married to
Placentia, and in Love with Aurelia, read by... / Armando, Bassino's Friend, read by
" / and so on

Sometimes there are "groups" mentioned, like Maskers, Dancers, etc....they all need their separate voice credit, so the best way to make sure you miss none is to check the Magic Window, Todd has listed every role separately, so here you would include for example: "Mountaine, servant to Ludovico, read by / Page, read by" / and so on.

At the end, don't forget to include "Stage directions read by TheIntern356"

After that you also read any scene description, here only: "Scene, Venice, in Carnival-Time", then launch with "The Perjured Husband, Act 1 Scene 1" and the rest is like in the other acts.

You see why it was best to start out easy with the other acts ;)
