COMPLETE[GROUP]Shakespeare Monologues Collection vol. 16 (Multilingual) by Shakespeare - thw
You don't need permission in advance for this project. And if we end up with multiple copies of the same monologue, who cares?
Highly recommend you do the One Minute Test so we can ensure your equipment is working properly before you submit something for real.
Thanks, Todd

Here's revision #2 of Leonato's Garden by Beatrice from 'Much Ado About Nothing'. (01:09)...Thanks!Juls11 wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2021, 6:03 pmI can try again, and this time maybe I'll be less enthusiastic with applying the noise reduction editToddHW wrote: ↑February 2nd, 2021, 5:33 amI'm not sure the additional edits help as much as you would want. The recording and any edits you made to Out Damned Spot ended up sounding better. What did you do differently for that reading than for this one? You might try a new recording of this one with the same setup.Juls11 wrote: ↑February 1st, 2021, 9:56 pm
Please see REVISED reading...THANKS, Juls11.

Can you please upload with the same name as your original? - that is what is now linked in the MW, and when you upload a new version, it replaces the old file.
Thanks, Todd
I'll be sure to use the same file name when uploading.
THANKS again.

Again - feedback only since you asked.
Better, more like your Lady MacBeth recording.
However, you had major volume changes in the recording, and all of it was very quiet. I tried to amplify it enough to listen and had to boost some parts by 12 dB and other parts even by 30 dB. I uploaded a version (what is now linked to the MW) with the volume boosted varying amounts throughout to give a more consistent output level. You can listen to that and see if it suits you. If you like that version, we could use that.
However, I suggest that you try editing to adjust the volumes on your copy, as this will be a necessary skill to learn for working with all your recordings. Using Audacity? In that case you mark a section of the recording, and then use the "Effect/Amplify" command from the drop-down menu. Peaks on your recording should reach or slightly exceed the 0.5 level on the scale, with maybe a few portions that go higher where you really want one section louder than the rest.
Thanks, Todd

Nice.
I did amplify it by a uniform 16 dB to be audible on my computer, but other than that clear and natural sounding.
Thank you, Todd

The recording is great, there is just too much silence at the end. There are ten seconds, when there should be five.

In case anyone wonders why we care about the ending silence: we discovered many years ago that some brands of mp3 players must have a certain amount of silence at the end or they will cut the playback short. The rule used to be 5 seconds for shorter pieces and 10 seconds for longer pieces, but now the 5 seconds seems sufficient for all players so we have settled on that one number.
Thanks, Todd

Hi Todd!
I've just discovered tons of Shakespeare's plays translated into Russian http://az.lib.ru/s/shekspir_w/
I think it will destroy the beauty of your first post, because now we have many translation variants for every single Shakespeare's work)
UPD. So I've started with All's Well That Ends Well. Please let me know if these sources are ok. Then I'll work the rest of the list during a week maybe
Перевод П. И. Вейнберга (1868) http://az.lib.ru/s/shekspir_w/text_0790oldorfo.shtml
Перевод П. А. Каншина (1893) http://az.lib.ru/s/shekspir_w/text_1602_end_kanshin_oldorfo.shtml
Перевод Н. Х. Кетчера (1864) http://az.lib.ru/s/shekspir_w/text_1864_all_good_oldorfo.shtml
Перевод А. Л. Соколовского (1883) http://az.lib.ru/s/shekspir_w/text_1893_alls_well_oldorfo.shtml
