COMPLETE[Play]Importance of Being Earnest (version 5) - thw
Here are the corrections for Lady Bracknell:
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/earnest_ladybracknell_01_128kb.mp3
I was having some kind of mental block on "Worthing" while I was recording and kept having to do re-takes because I had said "Worthington" instead. Not shocked that one slipped through...
I obviously needed to have a few cucumber sandwiches to steady my nerves before I began recording....

Stage Directions Act 2:
missing "of" at the beginning "Act 2 of ..."
fixed
4:48 missing " [Algernon rises, Cecily also.] ", would go between "Algernon. [Nervously.]" and "Algernon. [Moving to her]"
added at 4:48
5:23 probably would sound clearer with the name added "Gwendolen. [After examining Cecily carefully through a lorgnette.]"
Added Gwendolen at 5:27
5:29 missing "[Rising and going to her.]", would go between "Gwendolen. [Severely.]" and "Gwendolen. [Sitting down again.]"
added at 5:34

1:40 missing "[Turns to Jack.]" would go between "Exit Merriman.]" and "Algernon. [Stammering.]"

5:36 missing "Jack. [Irritably.]", would go between "Gwendolen. [To Jack.]" and "Lady Bracknell. [Meditatively.]"

Not sure if at the very end it should be "End of the importance of being earnest by Oscar Wilde"
Added full enumeration with subtitle and author.

Stage Directions, Acts 1-3: Spot-Checked OK!
Lady Bracknell, Act 1: Spot-Checked OK!
Jack, Acts 1-3: Proof-Listened OK!
Algernon, Act 1: Proof-Listened OK!
Gwendolen, Act 1:
Missing line "Oh! I hope I am not that. It would leave no room for developments, and I intend to develop in many directions." would go around 0:12, between "I am always smart! Am I not, Mr. Worthing?" and "Thanks, mamma, I’m quite comfortable where I am."

just realised that Jack is written as Worthington in the Magic Window, too
Well, I'd say I'm losing my mind... but that would imply that I ever had one...!Rapunzelina wrote: ↑November 28th, 2020, 9:34 amjust realised that Jack is written as Worthington in the Magic Window, too
I'd like to say that I'm happy to be among people losing their minds. I mean, losing you mind over Wilde would seem to actually be a badge of honor, wouldn't it?
Ok. Done with Act II:

Rapunzelina -- sorry about missing that line in Act I! Will record and re-upload the file by tomorrow. I'm having entirely too much fun reading this part.
Thanks!

Can't wait to start putting Act II together! I love the reading you guys are giving Gwendolyn and Cecily -- so sweet, but soooo catty!
Two more files completed!
