Sceledrus, Act 5 (corrected), duration 1:04

As for Sceledrus' disappearance and reappearance in the play, my guess is that when the original company of actors performed it in Plautus' time, that actor was needed to play a different role in Acts 3 and 4 (possibly even Acroteleutium, if it was an all-male company).

hm yes, you may be right, but it's so astonishing that he would have such a small part in the final act, considering the huge role he started out with.

In any case...PL ok now, thanks !

 indeed, another big talker. The play seems to have quite a lot of those. And you kinda relate the entire plot to the audience right from the start, talk about spoilers. In modern plays the "twin-stratagem" would not have been discovered so openly right from the start, but would more come as a highlight at the end.

Excellently performed, flawlessly narrated. No bits missing, everything great in character. Gotta love Palaestrio. Looking forward to his next acts.

PL ok. Thank you !

and here is the lovely Acroteleutium, courtesan extraordinaire, to be hired for any honey-trap job you may require

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/milesgloriosus_acroteleutium_3_128kb.mp3
Recording time: 3:41 min.

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/milesgloriosus_acroteleutium_4_128kb.mp3
Recording time: 4:12 min.

Please note that in Act 4, Scene VI (p. 132) I recorded a sentence that was assigned to Milphidippa, in my opinion it should be Acroteleutium saying this. First of all because it makes sense that it would be her to say this and Milphidippa replying to her, and secondly, because otherwise Milphidippa would say two parts in a row, which doesn't make sense. You can judge best when you listen to it all assembled.

Hope you like the flirty chick. 8-)

You best read some other role first before you jump all the way to the Stern Vicaress....

 too late, I recorded both the same evening. I managed the switch quite nicely, I think (like Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde :| ) She is awaiting you in the Cradle Song...

Todd, how much would it take to get you to swap around the flirty chick and the stern vicaress parts in the final plays?

Cheers,
