I would like to offer the following one-acter. It's a very short one, not even 7 pages.

Heirs of Slavery: A Little Drama of Today
text link: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=emu.010002585824&view=1up&seq=4
main book page on hathi: https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/100647973

by Katherine D. Tillman (1870 - 1923) not yet in catalog:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katherine_D._Tillman
(African American author from our list here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70911 )

Roles gender specific please.
Please read the full description of the roles on the first page of the play as your voice credit.

Hero (M)
Father Time (M)
History (F)
Miriam (F)
Gladiator (M)
Virginia (F)
Anglo-Saxon Digger (M)
Slave Woman (F)
Poesy (F)
Art (F)
Chorus of Singing Girls (F)
Narrator

I'm not claiming any roles here just yet, I'll see what's left for me. :D
Thanks Todd!
Cheers, Ava.

I'm downloading it to give it a final listen :)

while I'm here, I simply cannot resist playing Nance in the Pinero play 8-) I can suitably snap at any farm-hand that happens to be around. (btw you wrote Mance instead of Nance in the MW)

Also: I'll do the short role of the Maid in Short and Sweet.

And finally: Art in Availle's new play, if I may.

The other play is not PD for me unfortunately.

I really liked The Lover. Sierra is a good find for more plays.

Wise casting, I think. Better that the Gladiator sound more like Russell Crowe than The Crocodile Hunter.

I'll take the slightly confusingly-titled Anglo-Saxon Digger please Todd.

Cheers,
Chris
