I want "NikkiSPR" to be my name in the Librivox Catalogue.

Thank You.

I would like to claim Section 1 "Gerald Act 1"
This is my first time recording and claiming a section since it's been quite difficult finding a section to read.
I already have every thing that I need and know what to do to successfully record and submit my recording!

My pseudonym name: NikoSPR

Thank You.

Thank You.

Welcome to Librivox.
You will need to sign up to Gerald Act 1, 2 and 3 as they are all the same person. You will need to leave at least 3 to 4 seconds of silence between each of the character lines to aid with editing later on.
I will reserve those sections for you but you will need to complete your 1 minute test first and get the ok (see below). Also can you let me know how you would like your name to appear in the catalogue you have given me two choices NikoSPR and NikkiSPR please can you let me know which one you prefer.

We urge you to make a "1 Minute Test" for review before you start actively recording. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will find the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum so someone can give you feedback on it.

An overview of how Librivox works can be found here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/How_LibriVox_Works

There are numerous ways to volunteer here. An important one is proof-listening, which consists of checking someone's recording for errors. If you'd like to give that a try, you can find lots of information here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Guide_for_Proof-listeners

If you wish to try your hand at recording, the place to start is the Newbie Guide to Recording: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording, which tells you how to set up your computer to record.
One of our volunteers has created a number of videos that you might find helpful to learn more about the workings of Librivox. You can find a listing of those here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/User:Philchenevert

Also to point out to professional (or aspiring) Voice Over artists, all our recordings are put back into the public domain which means sometimes they are sold on ebay, etc. Have a look at this page which describes our Public Domain policy: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Copyright_and_Public_Domain

We hope you have fun and please, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Hello, that sounds great. Can you please tell me when I have to submit all the recordings just to get an idea.
I have school and just wanted to let you know that it might take me a while to submit my recordings for all 3 parts :D

I would like NikkiSPR to appear in the catalogue!

Thank you for your test. The reading is great. There are just a few edits needed first.

The bit rate should be 128 kbps.

The recording should be in mono sound, not stereo sound.

The recording should use a constant bit rate rather than variable bit rate (VBR).

The volume is low at 84dB. The ideal is 89dB but we can accept between 87 and 92dB.
If you could carry out the edits please and then reupload the file using the same filename and post it here for me to check. THanks
Michele

Hi Michelle
I have listened to your recording of the Preface as I assume you were waiting for someone to PL it.
PL notes:
At 6.27 a sentence is repeated.
At 7.50 (optional) the name "Goethe" is mispronounced, it should be more like GÜR-ta.
Otherwise it is PL OK!
(I will not comment on the content of the Preface which seems rather silly to me 😸)
