Also, have to add -- my favorite line in the whole book is in Chapter 5, when Daisy says she made this her "ownty-donty self!" That's so exactly like the way a real little kid would say something like that, you have to believe "Daisy" is based on someone Louisa May knew!

I love that line as well, it adds so much character and this aspect that it's not just fiction, the characters are really based off of real people, as you said

There are some parts that I've had to 'shout' a little, but hopefully not in a way that makes eardrums burst. I'm not sure I achieved the exact voice of a teenaged boy, but I tried to capture the vibe of one
