I was hoping she'd come back, as I enjoyed hearing her characterization, but I was afraid that it might come to this. :(

If it's alright with you, though, I'd like to try Pampinelli myself in that case. Can I trade in Spindler for her? I haven't started recording him yet.

Excellent work, Larry! Only one minor correction to be made! In a recording of this length, that is superb!

14:28 Missing character's name at the beginning of the direction: "Stage Manager, off at the left."

Todd, the intros for Parts 1,2,3 are all found at the end. :)
Oh, this is what I had hoped for! One part of a line missing for over an hour of finished recording is good news for me.
Simple to record a new line, and so here you go!

Thanks for what must be an arduous task to proof these complex lines. You're fantastic

Devorah, I agree with Larry - terrific work PL'ing all these parts! Many, many thanks.

Larry, also many thanks for doing these stage directions. I never dreamed they would be this long and this complex!

Thank you. And you still have a couple weeks on your claim to finish off Act 3.

Thanks, Todd

Act 2 stage directions PL ok!

And don't congratulate me just yet, you two. Wait until it's assembled, and then we'll really know how I did!

Nice job on Mr. Ritter. I think this will sound great with the voices we already have! You've given us some nice laughs and chuckles, too, which will sound very good in place, I think. I have a few things for you to address. A few missing lines, and some things that should be cut. Shouldn't be too bad.
  • At the beginning, you've included two takes of "read by Adam Bielka." Please choose one to keep and one to cut.
  • 5:15 OPTIONAL suggestion on inflection. The line is "where?" In context:
we’re giving it this time down at Hutchy Kutchy. [Ritter looks over at her with a quizzical squint.]
    Ritter. Where?
Mrs. R. [Looking over at him] Horticultural Hall
I think this line would benefit from a bit more of a confused inflection, as he's certainly never heard of any place called Hutchy Kutchy.
  • About 6:02 Missing line: "You mustn’t believe everything these women tell you; they’ll tell you anything to get their names in the paper."
  • 6:15 You have two takes of "But--a" Please cut one. (I prefer the first take, personally.)
  • 7:10 This line: "Good evening, Mr. Spindler" actually belongs to Mrs. Ritter. It can be cut.
  • 8:10 Three missing lines all in a row:
    • I was here a minute ago.
    • [Assuming the attitude and tone of a lover] I got thinking of you.
    • [Leaning a bit closer and speaking more softly] I couldn’t keep away from you any longer.
(Those last two lines are spoken to Mrs. Fell. He's having a bit of fun with her.)
  • 8:44 Missing line: "What's the idea?"
  • 12:15 Three missing lines in a row:
    • Yes.
    • Well, wait a minute, I’ll talk to you upstairs.
    • Hang that up when I get on, will you, Teddy?
  • 12:16 Two takes of "Oh my God!" Please choose one to keep and one to cut.
EDIT: And you may already know this trick, but a very easy way to do this is to start at the end and work your way up the list. That way, the time stamps don't change as you work, and it'll be easier to find each problem area. :)

Thanks, Devorah! I can‘t wait to hear our interactions with you as Mrs. P. (Mrs. P. is my favorite character - she just had too many lines for me). 😃

Thanks so much for the tip about going backwards! I know it, but I did quite a few edits before realizing how it worked! So I want to sincerly thank you for describing it, just in case I didn't know! LibriVox volunteers make such a helpful community!
