Well, these days I have more time to edit than record, so finished stage directions for Act I.
As usual, I've included them all, including those that are really just instructions to the actors, like "earnestly" etc. So they are there to use or omit as you see fit. Milne is really specific about movements and positions, etc,, but here you go:

I was just starting to PL Act 1 stage directions, and noticed a missing line in Act 1 for Devenish. It is at 3:15 in your recording, and is 'Where will my lady sit!'. It was hidden next to Belinda's line with no stage direction, so it looks like we both missed it. Sorry for not catching it sooner!

Thanks, Larry -- I need to get my act in gear and edit my Act 1 recording as well!! I appreciate the inclusion of everything, just in case.silverquill wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 9:40 pm Well, these days I have more time to edit than record, so finished stage directions for Act I.

Stage directions act 1 notes:
11:52 – heard ‘affection’ instead of ‘affectation’
17:40 – tiny note – missing ‘old’ in ‘poor old Baxter’. Lynette may very well choose to use the actor’s voice in that part though
22:02 – missing line ‘to Baxter’
25:03 – missing ‘with’ in ‘moving with her’
I agree that many of these directions were intrusive. I guess the writer did not want the director to have too much control over the positions of everybody!

Well, except for the one missing "to Baxter line," I did notice the others, but thought they'd be okay. But, I've made all of the above little corrections. and uploaded the new file.lymiewithpurpose wrote: ↑April 9th, 2020, 12:03 pm Stage directions act 1 notes:

Thanks for the careful PL. I now it is a challenge.

I always find it interesting that people have different ideas of when something changes the text. I have received notes that I feel like don't change anything, yet I also give notes that others feel like don't change anything. I guess we all think uniquely.

Thanks so much, folks. I've done some housekeeping on the MW, so it's orderly again.

I couldn't find any lines for Betty in Act 3. Please let me know if I've overlooked something.
Thanks,

Got both files loaded for our DPL. I think you're correct - I only see Betty mentioned in the stage directions; no lines.benderca wrote: ↑April 26th, 2020, 4:02 pmYou're very welcome, Lynette.
