I did the exact same thing for the last role I recorded! I guess this is becoming a pattern!
Luckily, it was a quick copy/paste from another recording I had saved.

Impressive that your voice sounds the same in different recordings, that was seamless. PL OK!mightyfelix wrote: ↑December 29th, 2019, 8:05 pm I did the exact same thing for the last role I recorded! I guess this is becoming a pattern!

Perfect - thanks! We hadn't expected to be away like that, so I didn't get a chance to prep things ahead of time for coverage and all. I appreciate your initiative!lymiewithpurpose wrote: ↑December 29th, 2019, 5:37 pm Lynette, I usually wait for the BC to put the links in the MW before I PL, but I saw you are traveling for a few days and thought I'd get to it. I left the MW for you to enter if you wish. Have fun with your travels!

Ok, that was fun! One down, two to go!
Harold Baxter, ACT I (time 5:33)
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/belinda_baxter_1_128kb.mp3
Ready for PL!
Note: There is one line I read, that I was a little confused by the notes on, I think it actually belongs to Devenish, but I read it anyway as if it was Baxter saying it....It is the line following where Devenish says, Oh nothing. It just said, "Mr. Baxter's statistics are extremely suggestive."
The line is: I haven't read them, so of course I don't know what you've been up to.
Either way, all you have to do is just leave that one out and have Devenish say the line instead of me. Better to do too much than not enough, it's easier to delete it than it is to add it.

Definitely better to have too much than too little. Thanks so much for that!hsparent55 wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2020, 9:39 pm Ok, that was fun! One down, two to go!

0:44/0:47/3:10/4:21 (this one has silence but could take a tad more) – I’m not sure how familiar you are with plays, but when stage directions interrupt a line you need to leave the 3-5 seconds of silence there to give room to work with.
1:24 – here’s that line you spoke of. I believe you can safely delete it. I think you interpreted ‘(Baxter makes a gesture of annoyance)’ as the start of Baxter’s lines. However, these are stage directions separating Devenish’s line. He will read both. As always though, like you said, best to read when you are not sure.

Nice work! I still did not hear an edit at 0:44 – one stage direction got fixed here, but there should be space between ‘well’ and ‘it’s the nesting season’. I suspect you may have to re record this line unless you are a very crafty editor.hsparent55 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2020, 1:49 pm OK, fixed those spots. Wonderful, just as the last one. Two very minor notes here:hsparent55 wrote: ↑January 5th, 2020, 11:45 am Harold Baxter, ACT II (time 8:26) Ready for PL!

2:55 – heard ‘yes’ instead of ‘yea’. I’m not sure if these two words have different meanings or not (I don’t know older English well). If they don’t, no need to correct.
6:03 – needs silence here

Here is my Act I with the minor corrections at 0:44, ready for Spot PL and Act II with silence added at 6:03, Ready for Spot PL.

I saw what you were talking about at 2:55 – (heard ‘yes’ instead of ‘yea’.) I noted how odd it sounded when I read it on the script, so I went from the HTML copy to the actual printed original page and it is supposed to be "yes" rather than "yea," so that was actually a typographical error on the html copy.
Thanks!

If they're going to make a typo, they should just make it obvious .

Thanks for the first two Baxter Acts, EJ and Campbell
Those are moved down in the MW to their master-file locations, so don't let it throw you off, EJ, when you're looking for your Act 3 section.
