Sure. You're Mrs. Payt. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks 8-)
Oh, gosh!

After getting a better look at everything, this Lt. Colonel's wife who grew up in the South thinks this looks like a lot of fun. It would be lovely to let my old Southern drawl peek back out again and read for the Mrs. Matilda Buchanan role.

I know that I have no record yet for participating in DRs, so I have no problem if you'd like to have me on a trial basis for it. I can read in the Ch. 1 lines tomorrow morning when the house is quiet again and upload that by the afternoon so you can see if I'll be good for the spot. I will have zero hard feelings at all if you end up feeling that I'm not what you're looking for, or that I would be a burden for some technical or interactive factor - and you can kick me back down to Mrs. Payt. :)

What do you think?

What? That would be GREAT! :D Sure, I'll change you over to Mrs. Matilda. It looks like you've had no problems with your other readings as far as tech, and this is pretty similar. Go right ahead, and we can always help work out any questions that come up. DRs are so fun, and in a way it's almost easier to get into character than reading a whole book and "being" several diff people yourself.

Cool beans. :D To acquaint myself with the normal way of doing things - I imagine I should read only her lines in the order they show up, but is there a particular convention in terms of how much space to leave between the lines? Do I just make sure there's enough empty space for the editor to easily see the division between lines? Or is there some kind of auditory marker we insert? :hmm:

Most people leave 3 - 5 seconds between, 3 is plenty for me (although some editors prefer longer).
Just make sure you start your file for Chapter 1 with "Matilda Buchanan read by..."

Mathilda Buchanan Ch. 1 is uploaded

She is entertaining! And I love the dynamic between her and the Major. It was a hoot pulling my old Southern speech out. I didn't realize how very differently I speak now. You use an entirely different mouth and throat set, and it's a far more laid-back, soft, and airy tone from the Midwestern speech I've grown into. It took Scott and I all evening last night and pre-work breakfast time this morning to get it settled back naturally into my mouth. The challenge was to blend her chatty-box personality into the longer vowels and patterns of a Southern drawl. Love her. :)

:) Sounds great. Just one small correction for Ch1:

01:54 - "think" should be "dream"

My southern accent disappeared sometime during elementary school and I haven't been able to resurrect it. Ends up sounding fake. But I remember home videos when "Daddy" was definitely three syllables at least.

And here are the rest of the chapters for Matilda:
Thank you. They were lovely. :) And, yes, thanks for reading that orange line you caught in Ch10. I'll fix it in the script.
All PL OK!
