Recorded the First Half Chorus of Satyrs for The Cyclops. Ready for PL.

I wanted to do this play cuz I was taking a theater class (until it got shut down by the virus) and the teacher talked about how the Greek theater used only a couple of main characters but a huge chorus in front of the stage to essentially narrate as well as dance/fight/set the scene. Probably becuz with the big open air amphitheaters you couldn't hear very well so you needed the many voices of the chorus and their choreography to tell you what was going on.

Note that it would be nice if whoever does the Second Half Chorus of Satyrs could try to copy the rhythm of the First Half Chorus reader (me). But don't worry too much - I may alternate some of the chorus lines rather than superimpose them all together all the time.

I have a question for you, Todd. Does it make a difference if the noise cleaning is done before conversion to mp3 the first time? I didn't ask Kelly to noise clean because I thought I could do it when I put it back into Audacity, but noise cleaning leaves her voice with a strong echo. When I noise clean my own files, this doesn't happen. Should I ask Kelly to noise clean her file before I edit it in?

I always treat a reader file as the best they can do. So I seldom (never?) noise clean what I get.

mp3 does drop out some data. I regard it as unnoticeable in a file - in fact, I actually download my own character mp3 files from the MW rather than find and use my original Audacity files when I edit a play.

But I have not done what you are trying to do with the reconverted (mp3 to Audacity) files. I guess you have shown that everything should be done to a file before it gets exported as mp3, and that makes sense: I see people talk about saving their archive copies as FLAC so they don't lose data in case they need to go back to reprocess.

(I confess I never do this - I just save the Audacity files. Yes, I know it takes up a buncha space on the computer but is easier for my brain to handle. Also - I have labels in my Audacity files with character entries, scene changes, etc, that might be useful in reworking something.)

Todd, I could help out with the stage directions for the cyclops (section 50), and, if I deduce correctly that Philene of 27 is a girl, then I can read her as well - IF and only IF there is no singing involved, of course!
