... and thanks for the compliments, Andrew. It's only long practice here, though I've found some courses on voice work at the City Lit in London that I might get on, after I finish my next course there.

Section 4 is PL OK! I liked the laugh you left in for Holmes! Nice work! All the voices are very distinct and work together very well too!

I've left in a chuckle at 16.43

The chuckle is fine, and there are two loud noises at 4:30 and 18:20 but they are between the words so should come out in editing, I think.

However I am concerned about your pronunciation of Ku Klux Klan - obviously this is a key name in the story, but it sounds to me when you say it like Klu Klux Klan, it appears twice at 11:11 and 11:20. I think this needs to be corrected please.

That is an interesting point, Beth.

My entire life (okay, it's only 65 years, but...) I have always believed that it was the
'Klu Klux Clan'.

Makes you wonder, eh?

PS: Peter, I know that you don't like listening to your own recordings but...

Picture this...

I am being gently lulled to sleep by the dulcet tones of my favourite voice, and then this
horrendous noise blares out at full volume!

I nearly shat myself!

Please don't do that again - I'm not sure my heart could take it!

And yes, it will be a piece of piss to edit them out...

That loud noise at 4.30 and 11.20 came in somewhere during post-recording processing. I've no idea what happened, but luckily I keep a wav of my recording before I start compressing and noise reduction, and that recording is free of the noise. So I'll have no trouble creating a clean mp3.

Like Andrew, I've always thought of it as KLU Klux Klan. Is "Ku" pronounced "queue" or "koo"? (kyoo/Kew versus coo/true)

EDIT: The wikipedia article gives a pronunciation guide where Ku is described as being pronounced "ku:" in IPA, but the IPA guide itself describes the "u:" sound as
uː GOOSE, food, tissue, cruel
... where, to my ears, "tissue" is pronounced very differently to "food"

I think coo - just as you have it but without the L.

Holmes chapter 5 re-uploaded.

Corrections at 11.11 and 11.20 to Ku Klux Klan; intrusive sound eliminated at 4.30 and 18.20.

Huge thanks to everyone - if there are any mistakes - they are my mistakes!

I think that everyone has done a 'wonderfull job' on this one -
if you don't mind me quoting 'Are you Being Served'! (God bless Mr. Grace!)

Bahd - I particularly enjoyed your voice - I hope that I have the opportunity to work with you in future.

Andrew
