I'm new and I'm unsure if I'm reading the magic window properly but if any parts are open I am interested!

Welcome to LibriVox! Dramatic Readings can be a little intimidating at first but no worries; that's why we're here to help! The part of Ellen is still open if you are interested; You can read about how dramatic readings and plays work by checking out the handy-dandy LibriVox wiki page, Dramatic Readings and Plays :D

You can also check out the Newbie Guide to Recording for tips and help regarding Audacity

We're happy to have you as a reader :D

Bahaha!!! She is bossy and controlling and condescending to other cultures. She would drive me *nuts* to have her for my momma. :)
I guess attitudes change over time (in general), but people don't. I'm glad you're sticking it out with Mamma - there's one more file to go if I didn't miss anything?

Well done with the filenaming! You're taking to this like a fish to water! :D
Cheers,
Ava.

Hi there Fiona and welcome to LV!

As Erin has said, Ellen is still open, but this is a major role - essentially, you'll be reading half the book. From experience, it is better to start with something smaller, a chapter here or there, a poem or a short story so that you don't get overwhelmed.

I see that you've asked for a number of other roles in this forum, so I'd suggest you'd read a few smaller ones to get a bit more comfortable with the whole process before you take on Ellen.

In any case, the very first thing you should be reading is your 1-Minute Test! It's not a test for you, but for your equipment, we want to tease the absolute best out of it so you'll be a happy reader for a looong time to come. :D
Cheers,
Ava.

Sections 01, 07, 11, 15 and 23 are PL OK!

Sections 05 & 06 PL Notes:
º Please make sure that there are at least 5 seconds of silence at the end of each file. For section 05 I noticed only around 3.5-4 seconds, and for section 06 I noticed around 4 seconds.

Section 20 PL Note:
º 00:38 - I hear "in every part than I think consists with Nature," instead of "in every part than I think consistent with Nature." (pg. 155, top paragraph)

º Please make sure that there are at least 5 seconds of silence at the end of each file.
In a DR or Play, this is not necessary for individual files (they will be cut down anyway). We only need to adhere to the standards for the final, completed files that will be catalogued.
Cheers,
Ava.

Hi there :)

I'm going through my reader's sections chart to reassess my open sections -

could my last Mama section be marked "Ready for Spot PL" so it doesn't keep glaring at me like something I've forgotten to fix? (It's currently section 66)

Thanks 8-)

Sorry for that delay; I've been sick and now I have to prepare for finals so I haven't been able to get any of my work finished until now.

Section 66 (Mama-OT 5) PL OK!
