Thanks TJ, I’ll fix that script error, and ask Andrew to record that line in his “extras” file.

I think for the master blackmailer you can go as mean and nasty as you like!

I think I'm in a position to offer a piece for this collection. It is really quite a short story by O. Henry. Main roles are Jimmy and the Narrator, but still I think it is a good little story and should do well as a simple DR.

Here I believe is all of the relevant information:

A Retrieved Reformation by O. Henry
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1646
1919
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O._Henry (1862 –1910)

8 roles

Narrator (neutral)
Jimmy Valentine Principal role (male)
Warden 2 lines (neutral)
Mike Dolan 2 lines (male)
Ben Pierce 6 lines (male)
Mr Adams 7 lines (male)
Annabelle 2 lines (female)
Mother (Annabelle’s sister) 2 lines (female)
Link to Prepared Script: https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=XZEa0G7ZCzTfoSPEHc5pfkcuNuY7WH38bSq7

The script is not color coded, but separated line by line similar to a play script. So, if colors are a challenge to you, give this one a try.

Larry, it looks like there is another small part, a boy, that Jimmy is questioning on page 6:

Jimmy collared a boy that was loafing on the steps of the bank as if he were one of the stockholders, and began to ask him questions about the town, feeding him dimes at intervals. By and by the young lady came out, looking royally unconscious of the young man with the suit-case, and went her way.

JIMMY: "Isn't that young lady Polly Simpson?"

NARRATOR: asked Jimmy, with specious guile.

BOY: "Naw,"

NARRATOR: said the boy.

BOY: "She's Annabel Adams. Her pa owns this bank. What'd you come to Elmore for? Is that a gold watch-chain? I'm going to get a bulldog. Got any more dimes?"

You have those two lines attributed to "Jimmy", but I think Jimmy is questioning the boy about the town and bribing him with dimes to give him information.

Hi Larry, I didn't know your story, so I read it and recorded the role of "Mother" while I was doing it - only two lines.

Hello Elizabby,

I've tagged that extra line onto Dr. Watson's 'additional' file, and saved over
the file - same name.

Hopefully, you should just be able to pop it right in - but if I've made any mistake, just let me know!

(To be honest, I'm a little concerned about the difference in recording quality - my original narration
sounds very odd indeed now! I hope that this will not cause a problem!)

Could I have another month on the Edward Roe drama?

Can't find it. Can you put in a separate file with a different name and just upload it to the thread here and I'll take it straight for editing.

Sorry about that - don't know what I did wrong this time!

Alright, I have a new recording set-up (or rather, I'm borrowing my workplace's recording set-up), so I thought I should test it out. Here's Will Munson:

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/unexpectedresult_willmunson_roe.mp3

I also wanted to record my role in the H.G. Wells story, but the GoogleDoc seems to have been deleted. Is this project being canceled?

I also recorded (without claiming the role) the part of Roscoe Button. Funny story: I'd also considered doing Benjamin Button for this collection, but went with Poe instead. I'm glad someone else decided to do it though.

Current Projects:
SOLO: The Intermediate Sex (Edward Carpenter)
GROUP: Prison Memoirs of an Anarchist (Alexander Berkman)

Short role, so could I read the exasperated Dr. Keen in the Benjamin Button story?
