May I claim Section 8?
for stage plays, the section numbers get changed around quite often, so which role exactly did you want to claim ? :hmm:
By the way, I cannot get access to the text. Can you please help me with this?

the link is in the first post, is archive.org not working for you ? This is the link: https://archive.org/details/docjohnson00newtrich/page/n9 maybe the site was only temporarily down.

Please confirm the role you want to have and I or Todd will assign it to you. Is this your first participation in a dramatic play ?

Stage directions in MW for PL.
excellent narration and wow, that was a lot  I was suprised that the narrator is quite funny at times, gives the whole play a light-hearted note. :)

Just wondering whether you really want to insert the dramatis personae in each act separately ? :hmm: That way we need to say some readers two or three times, instead of just once at the beginning.

Anyway, Act 4 is already PL ok, for the other three I have a few comments:

Act 1:

> at 0:42: (in the dedication): “You have made 17, Gough Square” – you say “I

> at 11:24: (p. 7) “a young man with a tip-tilted nose” – I think I hear “till-tipted” :?

Act 2:

> at 1:19: Piozzi did not have any lines, so we probably won’t need him in the voice credits

> at 9:35: (p. 61) “Dr. Johnson” – only here you call him “Mister Johnson”

Act 3:

> at 2:13: (p. 70) “Servant leaves the room.” “(Dr. Johnson,) speaking to himself” – I would insert “Dr Johnson” here, because otherwise it sounds as if the servant was speaking to himself

> at about 3:48: (p. 74): missed line: “Mr. Boswell enters

An extremely funny incident I have to mention: in the scene where Mrs Thrale signs the contract, it's mentioned only after the signing that she "stops pouring tea": I marvel how she could sign while pouring tea

Really looking forward to hearing all this assembled.

Because the cast list is so long with many people that only are heard in a single act, I decided early on that I would put a cast list in each act just as the book itself does.

I shall make the other fixes as you suggest.

Thanks, Todd

I claim Mrs. Woffington, a socialite, as it seems, in Act I.
In act II I claim Miss Streatfield, who has all of 1 sentence. :) I further claim in this act Mrs Garrick and Mrs Carter and advance the null hypothesis: these ladies do not have a speaking role. So I won't be offended if I don't get any voice credit for them. LOL
And in act four I could be Mrs. Desmoulins who does indeed say a word or two.

Thank you. Sorry I misled with the non-speaking women roles.
