I think she gave in way too easily it seems to me she is hoping to get married by him (just like Elizabeth in fact). I am not 100% sure that he means it seriously though. For that we would need to read the sequel (which once again doesn't exist )mightyfelix wrote: ↑May 17th, 2019, 2:52 amI'm not sure I understand her seeming to change her mind so quickly when she's talking with Mr. Thong, but I think she may be right about him.
I am pretty sure that it means "distinguished", only Tossie either doesn't know the correct word, or abbreviates it on purpose to sound cute. I would have pronounced it the same way at least. If it's an Australianism, maybe Chris can enlighten us further.I didn't know what to do with the word distingey. I gave it my best shot, but any suggestions on that bit would be most welcome, because I don't really understand what that might mean.
In any case, Tossie is marvelously PL ok. I love the final scene in Act 2 where you go hysterical. The poor girl, I can so understand her in that situation. And the dialogue with Maggs and Thong will surely be brilliant once assembled.
Thank you, Devorah, it's a wonderful job you did here.
