 yes, it helps to have a visual role model. Your Mr Jones is excellently no-nonsense here. All PL ok of course

thanks TJ.

Now we're only waiting for the main character to record his bit ;)

Here I am, catching up with Jerry. Or, at least, the first act.

wohooo, now this was excellent play-acting Tomas  What kind of an accent are you putting on here ? Oh he sounds so disagreeable all throughout with his wife. Their marriage is not really a match made in heaven.

But this final scene where you drift into alcoholic stupor is really wonderfully realistic. (almost too much...I start to wonder... you're playing a bit too many drunkards lately  )

This will be an excellent play :9:

PL ok for Act 1 and that means it's ready for final assembling !

Okay, I'll get on it soon. I think there is a standard amount of lines in the act, but since the narration can go on for paragraphs, it looks far longer than it would be if acted out. Also deliberating where it should split off. When Snooks enters, maybe?

Finally finished recording the rest of Jerry. What a difference a drunken reverie makes. I think I did a good job of going from nasty and abusive in Act 1 to jolly Mr. Postman in Act 3. You'd hardly believe it's the same man.

Once Sonia PLs those, we'll enter the editing stage in earnest. I'm not sure if Chuck is still willing to help out, to get this in the catalog sooner?

brilliant job, Tomas. Jerry is disagreeable for most of the play though, but yes, as a postman he is much nicer. I love the slur you always have in your voice. Did you try to do a certain American accent here ? I am not good at assessing accents but it sounds like it must be one. ;)

Act 3 is PL ok

have you PMed him already ? He may not have this project on his bookmark list and so didn't see that we are in the final phase.

LOL yes, it's supposed to approximate a Southern accent. I don't know where Jerry is from, so by the way some lines are written I guessed he was Southern. But who knows for sure!
or Act 2, there's one small thing: right at the very end you missed a loud "What?" from the stage directions on page 113
Thanks for spotting that! I was hoping there wouldn't be any lines in stage directions, but guess I was wrong. The line has been added and the file is ready for spot PL.

No, I didn't PM him, but I shall do so in case he's available!

Act 1, Part 1 is ready for PL. :) Everything sounds great so far. If Part 2 comes under around 34 minutes, we might be able to keep the act a single file.

Chuck has agreed to help edit, so I'll wait to hear which acts he'd like to do before I start another.

I think in that case I will wait before I listen to it all in one file.

well I had some time and I was too curious anyway  so I listened to Part 1 now after all. Excellently edited and you all sound great together. For some reason in the beginning, with this husband/wife constellation and then an old father coming into the room I was reminded of the series King of Queens  I pictured Dada like the actor who played Arthur.

Oh and a wonderful choice to make the break here, Devorah even has an "end-of part" tone of voice here, as if she had suspected this would happen.

The part can be marked PL ok. If you decide to merge it all into one file, I only have to listen to intro again, and then start at 38 minutes in.

Only thing: the file name should probably still be "vegetable_1", not "1_1". Even if you have parts, we can simply name them, 1,2,3 etc. It doesn't matter that Act 3 will be filename 5 in the end. The important thing is the name in the MW, and that is accurately named.

Good job so far, looking forward to the next part.

Yes, that was the idea lol. This may be more convenient than listening to an hour-long file at one go. If they can be merged then just the intro and outro would need to be checked to make sure there is no stray 'Part One' or 'Part Two' anywhere.

Oh, okay. I somehow thought the number in the file should correspond to the act. :? If we're not merging then I can rename it later. Thanks for clarifying, Sonia!

The filenames HAVE to be in an order that will alphabetically sort properly. Archive.org needs that. Good to do the final renaming before the final PL - so that we know that what gets PL'd is the same as what is supposed to be cataloged.

Thanks, Todd
