Thanks Linny! Glad to see you are feeling better! Unfortunately it is raining here so I don’t think I can record the last chapter of Peter today, but hopefully soon!

Chapter 11 is ready for PL: https://librivox.org/uploads/dlolso21/railwaychildren_11_nesbit.mp3 - 30:04

The final line is: “Oh, look up, speak to me! For my sake, speak!”
You read is as a group line but the others didn't. I split it up according to the color code.

I'm unable to download Dr Forrest for chapter 12. I checked David's folder and don't see it there. Please check the link. Maybe it was uploaded to a different folder.

EDIT: Actually, it looks as if it was submitted (see page 11 of the thread).

It's one line at the bottom of page 8: When the farm men, led by Peter and Phyllis and carrying a hurdle covered with horse-cloths, reached the manhole in the tunnel, Bobbie was fast asleep and so was Jim. Worn out with the pain, the Doctor said afterwards.

Thank you so much, Graham! These chapters are all PL OK, and read with such lovely expression too! Dr Forrest sounds very kind and sympathetic! I hope to see you in another dramatic production soon! :9:
I see links for Chapters 3, 4, 5, 10, and 13.

I don't see a link for Chapter 12.

No, I’ve just realized Ch 12 never appeared in the doctor’s list. I’ve messaged the reader but if he’s no longer around we might need Peter to fill in that one line.

Taking a look at that line - there are no quotes around. It looks like it could be read by narrator.

I also like the idea of the narrator reading it. I think that will flow well.

I think it’s going to have to be Peter - the reader hasn’t logged in since Jan.

Chapters 1 and 8 are PL OK!

I’ve sent Peter a PM as I don’t think he is following this thread.

Ch 9 PL OK - I was waiting to see how this chapter turned out! This one is the key to Perks’ character in particular!

Re: Narrator recording a line for the Doctor.

I've sent my quiet computer off to be upgraded (and to have a newly developed hum silenced). Then my backup computer failed on me, and I've only just received it back from the computer shop. 1) it has a noisy fan, 2) I need to reinstall quite a bit of software and backup data files. I'll try to get the recording done but it's possible that I won't be able to clean the noise … in which case, I'm afraid we'll have to wait on my quiet computer to get back to me. I should be able to report back within the next day.

Here you go: extra line for the narrator in Chapter 12: https://librivox.org/uploads/dlolso21/railwaychildren_12_narrator_additional.mp3

(4 secs)

From the Audacity display, it looks as if the noise cleaner worked perfectly, but if it's still noisy, I'm afraid we're going to have to wait a week or so for my quiet machine to return.
