Missing a voice credit, and I need to smooth out gaps and volumes between characters. But it will end up something like this....
I had a preliminary listen already to Act 1. Great editing job again, Todd. I don't think there are any gaps that need smoothing anymore. And the dialogues sound so great together. Each reader really does a great characterization of their role.

I have a few small notes for your consideration, see what you think. Of course the edits can wait until Larry has handed in his voice credit:

> at 0:27: “Robert Guiscard, Prince of Apulia” – still waiting for Larry’s voice credit

> at 0:37: “Tancred, a Norman knight” – can be cut out, because he doesn’t have a speaking role. Or should he be included anyway ? I don’t think we usually do that, we only include roles with voice credits, if I’m not mistaken

> at 15:39 and 15:43: (p. 10) “Adelgitha, significantly” and “Michael, haughtily”: I think cutting both those stage directions would give more momentum to the rapid exchange in dialogue. Leanne and Tomas managed the moods expressively enough in their voice, so it would work

> at 16:18 and 16:36: “Michael, aside” – this may be picky, but I hear a very short “s” at the end of Michael, which can easily be cut out, it’s quite easy to spot in Audacity if you enlarge the view

> at 21:13: (p. 11) “starting” – maybe this would better be put before the speech “Michael, starting”, of course, Tomas sounds surprised enough, so it could be left out. But after the speech it sounds a bit strange

I will wait for the Guiscard lines though before I listen to the other acts.

I did all the good fixes you suggested and uploaded a new draft for Act 1 while we still await the final voice credit.

Thanks, Todd

excellent, Spot PL ok. Good choice to leave out "Michael starting" altogether. Now I hear it in dialogue without interruption, it sounds really cool.

Only voice credit missing

Just a note that I have all of Guiscard recorded and will get them edited just as soon as I can. Such pathos!

These Archive scripts are hard to follow, but I've done my best:
sorry for being so late at replying but yesterday was a bit crazy here at home...

The archive script is indeed a bit hard to read, and I did find some errors or missed lines, unfortunately. But the performance is what counts and you played Guiscard extremely well. :9: He is actually way too self-righteous and rigid a person for me to really like him  but you conveyed his outrage and his final despair really well. It will sound really great once assembled.

But before we can proceed...here are my notes. Some may still be optional, but I figured I give you those lines where I think the text might benefit from correcting:

Act 2:

> at 0:12: (p. 18) "Nor at Bari's siege looked she less glorious, who descried the javelin aimed at her husband" - you say "desired". Well it may be optional but it would be a bit strange if she really "desired" a javelin in her breast :?

> at 0:22: (p. 18) "received it in her own ! then -- " here you need to leave a bit more space for Todd to insert Adelgitha's exclamation. I'm not sure it can be merged so well on top of it, so better leave Todd the option

> at 1:51: (p. 19) "and one transfixed my steed." - you say "steel", but the horse actually falls right in the next sentence, so we need to have continuity here

> at 2:10: (p. 19) "a youth -- " also here a bit more space to insert Adelgitha

> at 2:34: (p. 19) "gave me his steed" - here again, you say "steel", but the youth gave Guiscard his horse to replace the one that fell

> at 3:10: (p. 20) "I come -- Lothair, attend me." - you say "Come Lothair -- attend me", which is a bit of a change of meaning, but may be optional

Act 3:

> at 3:24: (p. 25) missing line: "My love, my life !"

> at about 3:42: (p. 26) missing line: (without) "Speed, Claudia, speed"

Act 4:

> at about 1:13: (p. 31): missing line: "Health to Byzantium's emperor ! For that title at length is thine not more in right than fact."

> at about 2:01: (p. 32): missing line: "Read there your answer."

> at 3:05: (p. 32) after "No more !" maybe leave a bit more pause for Todd to insert "(exit Alciphron)"

> at 3:43: (p. 33) "With barks like locust-clouds overspread the ocean" - you say barks and locust clouds which sounds a bit odd in context, since Michael surely cannot summon locust-crowds ;)

> at about 4:47: (p. 33) missing line: "Prince, farewell ! We meet not more, except we meet in battle, where one of us must fall."

Act 5:

> at 1:02: (p. 39) "And much I fear the damp from vaults exhaling" - you say "exalting"

> at about 2:21: (p. 41) missing line: "Lothair the assassin ?"

> at 4:13: (p. 43) missing line: "My brain ! 't will bear no more !"

> at 6:35: (p. 44) after "and my voice shall soothe" - you can cut the long pause because nothing needs to be inserted there

I think that was all. I really peeled my eyes, so I hope I didn't miss anything else.

Thank you, Larry, you brought us so close to the finish line now.

Well, back from retreat tonight, so I'll get on these just as soon as I can.
Woke up to six inches of snow, but we were pretty far north in the mountains, and it was just rain and much warmer down here. Still, a taste of what is around the corner.

Thanks for the update, Todd. :) Yes, I'm hoping those corrections come in by then. I'd love to have this play done soon.
