These are both PL OK! Cute voice, works well for this character! (I note that you don't appear in Section 6, so you would be eligible to take Percy Jenkyns, the prosecution lawyer, as long as you can make him sound a bit different from Joe!)

Just a note, are you coming back to the role you claimed in Railway Children? You've got some more time yet if you need your voice to rest.

Also, this means that Section 1 is also Ready to Edit!

Love the courtroom scene. :)
Thanks Larry, I've put these in the MW but they are longish files so I'm probably not going to get to them until the weekend, and I think Devorah is pretty busy with editing as well - or will be when she sees the updates I've posted! She might decide to edit in the narration of S5 and PL it as she goes, otherwise I'll get to it this weekend!

Nice job on section 5, Larry. You did everything perfectly! However, I am going to ask you for a change. Not because you messed up, but because I did. In looking back at this section, there is one line that I want to redistribute. It was scripted like this:
Joe said yes, he had a boat—one he had just bought—but it needed three people to sail her. We told him we would like to see it anyway.
with Joe speaking the bolded bit. But now, looking at it, I don't like the fact that Joe is speaking of himself in third person here. So I'm going to ask you to add part of that to the narrator, so that it will end up like this:
Joe said yes, he had a boat—one he had just bought—but it needed three people to sail her. We told him we would like to see it anyway.
So please record "he had a boat—one he had just bought" and insert it at about 1:26, and this section of narration will be done. Sorry for the extra work!

(Joe's part is already PL ok, but it doesn't need to be redone. I've checked it, and it will be easy to take only the words I need from his file.)

There are a couple of missed lines in the narration for section 6. They were both in the middle of Mr. Jenkyns' lines, which was a light green, so maybe that color is a bit too light. :hmm: Anyway, here they are:

2:01 "he was saying"
4:51 "said Mr. Jenkyns, talking in a very grand manner as though he were on a stage in a theatre"

i have taken the liberty of supplying these as separate files, each with 5 s.o.s, top and tail.

for section 7: duration 40 seconds

for section 13: duration 14 seconds

Thank you! I've entered these into the MW and marked your role PL ok! You've provided a wonderful characterization for our Doctor! I'm looking forward to stringing all of this together. :)
if you need me to supply the entire sections with corrections, please let me know. but i figured an editor would appreciate the exact piece she needs.

let me know if you need anything else

Good thinking, and if I had already begun assembling these, it would be very helpful to have the line in a separate file, as you've given it. But since the narration isn't finished, I haven't been able to start editing on this and it would have been better to insert it into the larger file in the correct order. However, it doesn't make that much of a difference, and I'm definitely not going to ask you to resubmit anything more. You've done a great job, thanks again!

thank you very much. i am so very glad you enjoyed the performance. it was ok by the end, i think ;)

Hello! I would love to read section 20, for Mr. Percy Jenkins, if it is not already claimed. I'm not sure if this is how one goes about claiming a section, as I am relatively new to this, but this is what it said to do.

That's exactly how to claim a part!

However, before I assign it to you, I'll need you to complete your one minute test. It's basically a sound and tech check. Instructions on how to do this are in the welcome email you should have received, and also in the wiki, here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Let me know when your test is approved, and I'd love for you to read Mr. Jenkyns! And welcome to LibriVox!

I'll take on your orphaned Jenkyns, if I may. :)

EDIT: Oh, I see someone claimed him upthread. I'll take him if that falls through.

Thanks Tricia!

Yes, sorry for the confusion. But I didn't want to officially assign anything until the 1-minute test goes through. :)

I'll take the orphaned section 20, Mr. Percy Jenkyns, if it's still available, please. Thanks
I see others were here first. So, as a last resort, I'm here. Thanks :)
