Interesting article! I think I agree with the author of the article though - I don't see a lot of point in removing value neutral references to skin colour, particularly changing the "Song of the Three" where the whole point is that black, white and red men came together to defeat their enemies!

I do think that the whole "Sleeping beauty" subplot embodies some very offensive assumptions about black vs white beauty standards and colonialism - but the whole storyline is embedded in two books, and I think ripping it out would require rewriting the whole escape from jail sequence. Tricky.

I will have to check the dates in my version at the local library and see which version we have!

Crowning the King of Kings!
Thank you! This is in the MW for PL.

I don't quite feel comfortable thinking of Doctor Dolittle as the King of Kings, though!

I've marked this PL notes, but Devorah could you please have a listen first? There is one loud spot with some distortion at 1:47, but if it can be cleaned up in editing I don't think a re-record will be necessary.

Hi Chris, everything that is there is fine, but there are some words missing from the ends of both files? Each of the files needs some separate words added at the end, as "Ben" gives his advice to the Doctor and his friends. If you can't read the colour coding of the script, I can separate out the words for you? Ben's red/white colours scheme isn't the easiest on the eyes, unfortunately!

Both files have multiple parts missing which go after the parts you have recorded - it's going to be best to check the scripts directly.

Larry, let us know when you upload section 2 again. :)

Narrator Section 2 is all PL OK as far as the text goes, but the introduction now just says "Chapters 4-6", there's no "Part 1"? This might be able to be copied and pasted from somewhere else though...

Yes, I can do that in editing. No need for Larry to resubmit if that is all.
