benderca wrote: May 21st, 2018, 2:12 pm So I wanted to listen to the narrator, section 2, so that I could check how to pronounce "Shiegra" and I discovered that instead of "section 2", section 1 was posted twice (under both numbers "1" and "2". Maybe you already know this, but just in case:

7 Narrator MrsHand Sections 1, 2,

By the way, how do you pronounce "Shiegra"?

Absolutely. Would you be willing to be both voices in that section?

TJ has requested a small extension for her parts. They are recorded, she is working on editing.

NishthaRocks--

I enjoyed hearing your reading. I could visualize the Queen of the Nymphs as you voiced her.

However there are a number of minor issues in this section:

1. Volume: This reading checked in at 75.6 dB. The acceptable range her at Librivox is 86.5-92 db (the target is 89 dB). I attempted to boost the amplification myself (my skills in this area are limited) and was able to get it in the acceptable range, however not without considerable distortion.

2. The line "Only by the vote of every immortal can it be bestowed upon a mortal." in Section 5 belongs to the Master Woodman of the world. The color coding changes between sections 4 & 5.

3. I was unable to locate the file for the Queen of the Water Sprites. When I attempted to download, what I got was a "Failed-No file" message.

4. File names (this may be why I was unable to download the file). Try using these file names when you re-upload. It's possible you overwrote your first file with your second submission.

I look forward to hearing you in the final mix!

Many thanks,

Philip,
I think it was the # sign in the file name that messed things up. I was able to download it from the project folder. I changed the file name and reuploaded so you can take a listen. I didn't look at it myself. https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/lifeandadventuresofsantaclaus_water_sprites_128kb.mp3
Thank you for the suggestion on the file names. I modified the initial post.

Nishtha,
Please try moving your mic closer to you and looking at your input volume. If your volume is coming in around the 70dB range it will be difficult to get sound quality you are looking for through amplification.

Nishtha:

The Water Sprite Queen suffers from the same low volume (75.6 dB) as the Queen of the Nymphs, but is otherwise word perfect and very nicely done.

Once you get the volume boosted, the file should be PL OK.

Many thanks,

Philip

Here's the sweet little fairy wisk (who also has a head for problem solving, breaking all stereotypes one may previously have held about fairies :D):
