Chuck:

here are the links for Camperdown (Acts 1 and 2) and Polonius (Act 2):

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/rolloswildoat_camperdown_1_128kb.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/rolloswildoat_camperdown_2_128kb.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/rolloswildoat_polonius_2_128kb.mp3

A quick note...I did a voice credit which includes Polonius...I don't think it would be difficult to edit out if I shouldn't have included it--but if you'd rather, I can re-record it.

Many thanks,

Philip

Interesting point about the 'R's. I tried to model this off my memory of an expatriate Texan truck-driver I knew here in Australia about 15 years ago. I couldn't tell you which part of Texas he was from, but I seem to remember he hit every 'R' there was to hit. While he was one of those "Nature's gentlemen", he didn't have a gentleman's accent.

Act 2: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/rolloswildoat_stein_2_128kb.mp3
(All three acts were recorded in the same session)

Cheers,
Chris
Hi Chris! Sorry it took so long to listen to these. Real life intervened in a pretty gnarly way. But good news: these are great and really, really funny. I think the decision to play Stein as Southern worked really well. :-)

Acts I and II are both PL OK, but I found one missing line in Act III:

4:10 (pg. 105): He came on the same train as I did—but he took a walk from the station, I guess. He says he was nervous.

Thanks again!

Nicely done, Philip. It's kind of a shame we can't do our own version of Hamlet... I kinda think we'd nail it. :-)

Act I is PL OK, but I found one missing line in Act II:

0:07 (pg. 64) - “Don’t be nervous—after all, it’s no more than others have tried to do—and there is always room in the world for one more Hamlet!”

Thanks again!

No problem...glad to do it. Re--Hamlet---yes, I'm sure we would nail it. Favorite soliloquy '2B or not 2B, now if I can just remember her apartment number.'

(The previous example proves beyond any doubt that any resemblance between me and the good humor man is highly coincidental). :)

Many thanks,

Philip

Here you go!

The very last line in act 3, I gave two renditions. I wasn't sure if Lydia was cut off when leaving, or if what is on the page was her whole thought. So, take your pick. :)

Thanks Larry. I started PL-ing your recording this afternoon and absolutely loved your rendition of Horatio. :-)

I should point out, though, that you only recorded Act III, Scene II. There are some more lines from Horatio in Scene I:

https://archive.org/stream/rolloswildoatcom00kum#page/74/mode/2up/search/horatio

No rush, obviously... and my apologies for not making it clearer that each act was subdivided into two scenes. This is one of the drawbacks of using an archive.org source text, I'm afraid. :|

Thanks Tricia! I love your rendition of Lydia. :-) The singing is, especially, a nice touch.

I've only listened to Act I so far, but I only found two errors (both missed lines).

8:14 (p. 39): My voice isn’t very good this evening, Rollo.

(p. 45): What’s the matter?

...but those are the only ones I found. The source text for this is a little difficult to navigate, I'm discovering.

I'll PL Acts II and III later. I'm a little under the weather right now and still have to walk the dog and do some housecleaning.

And the rest is fantastic also. :-)

Act II is PL OK, but I found another missing line in Act III:

1:47 (pg. 92): “Yes, he didn’t even have a coat.”

Thanks again!
