Act 4....ooooh I loved this scene. 8-) I enjoy a good gender fight on stage. If Kate (from the Taming of the Shrew) had been a widow, that's the way she would have behaved with Petrucchio, I dare say:

and the happy finale. I cannot help thinking that secretly the widow is quite happy to have been roped in by master Bold's subterfuge ;) I did convey that in my speech, hopefully.

So, unless there are errors or missing lines, my part here is done until the PLing for the final acts. And you probably want me to PL Stoofy and Scarlett as well. :hmm: I'll keep an eye on the project, don't worry, Rob.

Nearly post-cold here -- soon time to crank up the reading machine

I just could not whoop (though I tried). All those "House of Commons Greatest Hits" videos should have taught me, but the boy noise-making gene is utterly missing here (cf: Peggy's attempt at whistling earlier)

This girls-playing-boys and boys-playing-girls is an interesting theatrical concept, but had it been used in “Saving Private Ryan”, that would have been a much shorter movie.

I mean, do you believe it would’ve taken an all-female combat unit three whole hours to find Matt Damon?

Ha! Good point, Chris! That's why you should have directed it. I purport in addition that if women had played the roles in the governments as well, that war never would have taken place. (Ooops, did I say that? Sorry, just thinking out loud. Strike that). :D

Hey Rob,

Here is Seldom in Acts 1, 2 & 4:

I don't remember how you feel about your actors doing multiple roles, but I'd be happy to also do Spillblood in Act 3 and the Priest in Act 5 if you like (all in different character/voice of course!)

Thanks for that. Regarding multiple roles, I try to avoid it if possible because I think it’s more confusing for listeners, especially in a play in which some characters are in disguise and so already adopting multiple voices. Some readers can disguise their voices really well, but I think it is fairer to have a blanket policy so it doesn’t seem like I am more willing to accept multiple readings from some volunteers but not others. I sometimes relax the policy if the play is nearly finished and no one has claimed the tiny roles. We’re not at that stage yet but thanks for offering.

I had to back up a bit from the microphone in order to get this blowhard Lord Proudly down without clipping. I trust it doesn't sound too far away from the mike.

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/amendsforladies_proudly_2.mp3 (Caution: Not suitable for the very, very nervous)

I normally like to get a characterisation all done in one sitting, but one act a day is all I can manage doing this fellow.
