And may I also take some extra small roles? The chamberlain in 3 and the innkeeper in 10? Would love to try that Eastern European accent :D

Chuck:

The Publisher is PL-OK!

You played Hall Cain with malevolent delight. The only note I have is that the file Checked in at 85.6 dB outside of range. There were many very quiet parts--and while they accentuated the drama, if you will, a small boost in those areas should bring the file into the usual range.

MW has been updated.

Many thanks,

Philip

Thank you, Philip. :D

Chuck, if you have the time to correct the volume, that would be great. If not, then I'll get it when I edit.

No problem. Just re-uploaded the file. Let me know if it's better. :-)

Linny,

Here's the Grand High Chamberlain.
However I included only 1 line--I'm pretty convinced that the second one,
"Hoch!" he cried as he did so.
is actually a line belonging to the emperor.

Let me know if you disagree and still need me to record it.

I also have Zola recorded but I need to sleep on it for a night and have a fresh listen to it to see if my horrible french accent is not offensively bad.

Thank you, Foon.

I wasn’t sure about that line. I’ll check and see if our Emperior recorded it and go from there. Thank you for your help.

Hmm. Should I run it through a compressor then? The whole recording is structured like a Pixies song: quiet, loud, quiet, etc. Not sure if I can boost the volume without making some parts of it spike. Thoughts?

Chuck:

I'm back. What I did was to use the ReplayGain effect from the effects menu in Audacity. It analyzes the file and then makes a recommendation as to the sound involved (how much to increase or decrease the amplification) when you use the analyze option. If you use the normalize option it will get the sound in the file as close to 89dB as possible without distortion or clipping. In this case, the effect got the file to 89.1 dB without distortion (and with minimal impact to the quiet malevolence of your interpretation.)

I've marked it PL-OK.

Many thanks,

Philip
