Beatrix Potter's delightful stories come to life in this Librivox recording of some of her most famous tales. This collection is extra special because it was read by children for children. Come along as we experience the well-loved stories of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle Duck, Tom Kitten, and many others! ( Adele de Pignerolles)
Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

beatrixpotter_[role]_[#].mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the act number.
Transfer of files (completed recordings) Please always post in this forum thread when you've sent a file. Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.
This project has already been completely recorded and edited. It has 5 sections already PL OK (PL'd by Esther ben Simonides) but will need a PL for the other 9. It's almost ready to be cataloged.

Thanks!
All of them are already registered except for one, and he's going to read through my account for now. The readers (other than myself) are EstherbenSimonides, RupertHolliday, EddySherman, Rosalynn, and JohnnySmith. ("Lukie" will read through my account until he's old enough to really read more!) 5 of the files have been PL'd already, but I was wondering if someone will need to check them to make sure that they uploaded properly? I already know all the lines are there.

On the files already PL'd, it's a judgement call. I think it's ok if they are spot checked after upload to make sure the upload worked. I suggest you listen to a bit at the beginning and end of each file and validate the duration with the copy on your computer.
Would you please make sure you have submitted a parental permission form for Lukie given his age - even though you don't plan to register him as a separate reader, we need to make sure our records show he's got permission to include his voice on the recording.

I'll check on that but I think it's already been submitted

I may be able to help with some PLing, but it would be helpful to have the expected duration of the files, if you have it. I tend to plan my PLing around whether I have a long or a short section to PL.
Oops, sorry! It would be great if you could PL I mean to put in the times but forgot. I'll do that now. I added up the times and there's around 1 hr 20 minutes of listening.

Cool, thanks! The Pigling Bland will end up being around 20 minutes. I haven't uploaded it yet because I realized I'm missing a line so I should be able to get that and upload the section tomorrow.
