If someone will give me an example of the pronunciation of the French names (like my own, for a start!), I'd be willing to take on the role of Lafeuille. Something of a butler, I gather? I trust I don't need to attempt a French accent? Because I think I'd sound like Inspector Clouseau if I did. I choose Lafeuille, rather than Achard, as who knows, maybe one day the troupe will take the show on the road, and I'd rather be remembered for my "rich liveries" than "grey silk stockings".
As the lady with the crooked stocking seams said to the gentlemen, "Face the wall, boys. This is a hold-up."

yes he is butler (valet) to "nasty me" I already made a sound file for Leanne for this same name, so I can send it your way this evening, no problemSonOfTheExiles wrote:If someone will give me an example of the pronunciation of the French names (like my own, for a start!), I'd be willing to take on the role of Lafeuille. would like to hear that. No French accent required. In fact, they are only speaking English because it is a translation, in the original they were of course speaking French, so there is no need to pretend an accent.
I never thought about taking LV dramas on the road...interesting thought.I choose Lafeuille, rather than Achard, as who knows, maybe one day the troupe will take the show on the road, and I'd rather be remembered for my "rich liveries" than "grey silk stockings".
Thanks so much Chris for helping out here.

Delighted.
Oh, by the way, I think I may have found Sonia's opportunity to play a dinkum Aussie sheila.

"why would you think I would want that?"
Because "impossible" is not a Gallic word.

Have listened to Sonia's sound file, and will give "eui" my best try.
With apologies to the Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup":

yay Laffeuille is in thank you soooo much Chris
unfortunately, your pronunciation for Laffeuille is spot on so the Marchioness has no reason to let out her bad temper on you. (you must have had a great teacher ) I even think you enjoyed saying the name over and over again. Oh and all the other French names you had almost all spot on as well. You are less of a French ignoramus as you let on
All 4 Acts of Laffeuille are PL ok. I didn't expect Laffeuille to be a Jeeves LOL but it's a great performance like that. And I guess as valet for the Marchioness he learnt to be a bit stuck-up.
And this means, I might be able to listen to Act 5 over the weekend still And Act 1 is also ready to be assembled.
Sonia
hahahaha is that what they still do in your neck of the woods ?The Marchioness takes issue with her valet's pronunciation: http://sydneylivingmuseums.com.au/sites/default/files/styles/image_six2/public/cat%20o%20nine-large.jpg
