Thanks Philip, this is perfect! It's not an easy read (especially the formatting in the finale) but you got it all, well done!
Thanks so much, Beth! I used a little technique that really helped with the timing...in Audacity, I played your file in the background while I recorded mine, and then removed the template from the file and processed as usual. The specifics on the technique can be found on the Librivox 13th Anniversary Song board. The template was a lifesaver (and I know a lot of work). I really appreciate it.
Thanks Philip! Act 2 is all there, except for the last final chorus which begins:
Then let the throng
Our joy advance,
With laughing song
And merry dance,
With joyous shout and ringing cheer,
Inaugurate our new career!
It is repeated twice. I think you might have read the "On the subject I pray you be dumb (dumb-dumb)..." chorus twice instead of this one. (Sorry if that was my mistake in the template...)
Everything else was present and correct! Many thanks!
So I actually recorded all of the chorus, but I just found out that a technical error has made all the files unusable... and now I'm out of state and visiting my in-laws. Ugh. I won't be able to record this until next week.
If you want to find someone who can get this done quicker though -- or if anyone wants to volunteer -- please let me know and I'll happily relinquish the role. I hate holding up the project.
PROJECTS
Current Solo:Septimius Felton (Hawthorne's final novel)
Help Needed: Strange Interlude (O'Neill's Freudian melodrama - roles available!)
Thanks Philip this is now PL OK! I'll leave these files at the top of the MW, as these are now a better template than mine (which has some bits missing).
Chuck, there's no rush at all - this project has been running for a long time, a bit longer won't make much difference!
Could I just remind you that you now have two completed versions of Male Chorus Act 1, the one by PGould and the one by me, listed as Mikado Act 1. Is this enough to start editing act 1.
Chuck could just do act 2.

I’m recording right now, if that helps.

I would prefer a fuller sound for the opening chorus in particular - I thought 3 voices would be the optimum between enough voices and clarity of speech.
The women's chorus is filled out with the three little maids, so the men's chorus is already thinner than I wanted. I think if we had only two it would sound more like a duet than a chorus!
I always knew the male chorus roles would be the hardest to fill - we've waited two years to fill them so another week isn't going to kill us...
I'm not gonna lie -- I'm really not sure if I'm doing this right. I found recording this section incredibly difficult (you can even hear me listening to Philip's recording during the silent bits) and will not be offended if this whole sound file needs to be scrapped.
Another potentially unusable file. Please let me know if this needs to be scrapped -- I won't be offended. The Japanese bit at the beginning, in particular, is embarrassing.

Act 1 is PL OK! The Japanese is fine, and you did a sterling job with some very tricky formatting! The finale of Act 1 in particular was quite tricky but you got every line! Yay for you!
Act 2: only two PL notes, not for the Japanese which was again perfectly fine, but one missing line and one misread...
The first line is missing: By all means. Let's— let's thoroughly enjoy ourselves.

EDIT: Not sure what's going on, but the uploader won't let me replace the original file. It just keeps playing the original file. So I changed the file name slightly to submit it again.
