Amelia,
Acts 2 and 3 are PL OK.
For the Epilogue, we need a bit at the end. Please add "End of Caliban by the Yellow Sands by Percy MacKaye.
Sorry that this was not in the first post, it should have been.
Great job reading through all of this, and all those names!

Hi
Are we still looking for some readers for this project. I'm really looking forward to hearing the end result.
Can I help with anything?

we just have one open part, technically-- the Voices from Below / Power of Setebos / All / The Dirge / The Soldiers part.Craigos wrote:Hi

Miranda's parts are not fully complete, and Catrose seems to be unreachable, so that is another thing holding us up. I'd been meaning to post over in the orphans thread about Miranda, and I just got around to it tonight at last. hopefully somebody takes an interest and swoops in to help us out.
and.... eventually we will need an editor. I'm somewhat interested in trying that out, but I haven't edited a project like this before-- so some tutoring or splitting of the work might be helpful for that part (once we get there).

thank you MaryAnn-- I was assuming that "End of Caliban by the Yellow Sands... etc." would come at the end of the Appendix
recording. but maybe we don't need the Appendix at all. I need advice on this.
I've been working on the Appendix, and it is so very long! I didn't realize until GarageBand just spit out an error that it's over and hour already and I have several pages still to read. most of this section is lists of instruction and description to assist directors who want to put on the play. there is some interesting added detail on the action of the interludes, but I'm wondering now if it's worth including for listeners. should I just give up on it and make the Epilogue the ending? this is probably the easiest thing to do.
another idea I had was to edit the interesting detail from the Appendix into the actual interludes at the end of each act... but that's changing the text from how it was printed, and maybe that would be too much editorializing for LibriVox. I don't know!
if any of you have thoughts or advice, I welcome them.

Oh. I had forgotten about the appendix.
It's not required that we do it, so unless it really adds, I suggest leaving it off.
If there are particular parts that you think do add, then perhaps we can do a "selections from" section with just those bits. That saves from reading the adverts at the end ... what an odd thing to put in your appendix.

even the interesting bits of the Appendix are loooong (really detailed descriptions of the story and action), so they'd probably need to be in two parts. or three. I'm all for scrapping it just to avoid figuring out how to split it up. to include even the forward would be weird without including the rest, too.
I guess how much it would add depends on how familiar the listener might be with theatrical/performance history overall. the short interlude descriptions already in-between the Acts is probably sufficient though.

Let's Scrap It!
The play is the interesting part. If someone really wants to know how to stage it, they will be doing more research than listening to this audio recording!

thank you-- PL okay.
I will hopefully find a minute to edit the Epilogue today, and then we'll just be waiting on our last reader and someone to take over Miranda...

Hello!
I'd be interested in taking over the orphaned role of Miranda if you still need someone. I'm delighted to do the entire role, as you had mentioned.
Thanks very much!
