Gunsight Pass: How Oil Came to the Cattle Country and Brought a New West by William MacLeod Raine (1871 - 1954).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/gunsight-pass-how-oil-came-to-the-cattle-country-and-brought-a-new-west-by-william-macleod-raine/

Dave Sanders, a young Arizona cowboy, is a classic western hero: honest, brave, intelligent and caring. This is a story of how he navigates the snake-infested territory of the Old West, dealing with all manner of scalawag and scoundrel and fending for his friends, his horse, his life and freedom, as he is wrongly accused of murder. ( Scotty)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/14574
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I have Chapter 1 already and I'll upload it in a minute, even if it does scare off potential DPLs (at least they will know what they are in for with my dull voice over these 45 dadgum chapters, )

Thank you, Helen! I just recorded and uploaded chapters 7, 8 and 9. This seems to complete the first part of the novel, having glanced ahead a few. A kind of Act I. 9, the titular chapter, was my favorite so far.

1- Please check

I'll let you decide if you can fix this, if not, I'll pass it. :)

2- for future reference, less movement in the last 5 seconds of silence.

Scotty, you made the race scene very exciting!
