The Teacup Club by Eliza Armstrong ( ?).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-teacup-club-by-eliza-armstrong/
The Teacup Club (For the Advancement of Woman) is formed when Dorothy decides to found an intellectual club of her own - to teach her fiance a lesson! The club’s discussion topics (official) includes Theosophy, Politics and Women in Legislature. The club’s unofficial topics include Emily’s new dress, man-flu (its causes and cures) and the great mystery of the missing chafing-dish. A witty drama and a comedy of manners, secrets and politics (both official and unofficial).

    1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/50751
    5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.
Please only read from the Google Docs which are linked in the MW

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

This is an all female cast apart from the narrator and we wish it to be gender specific

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I will be DPL and Editor on this project.

I will need a DPL for the final parts once I have edited them together.

Please do not claim parts until the MW is complete thanks.

I'm still happy to be involved as the final chapter DPL, but I'm not keen to take a large part - I'll take whatever is left at the end! 8-)

I think you would make a good Emily, Dorothy, or a good Narrator - it depends on what you feel like reading! (I have now added a link in the MW to the cast list with a few descriptions of the characters.)

Dorothy is the main girl who is the centre of the DRAMA in the group. Emily is her best friend, who follows where she leads but doesn't always understand her. These are the next two biggest roles after the narrator and Evelyn. Frances is a bit more gossipy and a mid-sized part, Elise and Marion are both slightly smaller parts, although actually all the girls appear in every chapter.

If I had to recommend a role for you it would probably be either Emily (the youngest) or Dorothy (the drama queen and slightly erratic). If you felt like trying your hand at narrating, this is the easiest narrating job ever!

EDIT: MIchele, do you still have the script links or shall I put them in the MW? (If you haven't done it and I have time tonight I'll do it then.)
