COMPLETE [PLAY] La Bohème by Giacosa & etc.-maryann
So the only question now is which part do you want? Colline or Schaunaud?alanmapstone wrote:I do not know if this project is still active but it occurs to me that as the translator died in 1946 this has now become PD in Europe.
If this is so I could offer to read Colline or Schaunaud in order to move it along. But I would like know who, if anyone, is BCing this now as the original BC seems to have disappeared.

OK I will take Schaunard.

There was an interesting programme on the BBC recently about La Bohème, here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08q5wy5

Originally the BC for the project was Tortilla, but I am filling in until such time as they return. No-one is quite sure what happened to them. Anyways, the point is that I am not sure what the original plan was for stage directions. My guess is that they were going to be read by Tortilla while the editing was being done. I do not much mind if the stage directions are read by different people throughout the work, but I do want each Act to have the same reader throughout. That being the case, the answer is this...bwieseler wrote:Do we read stage directions?
If you want to read the stage directions, I can assign you the entire Act for which you wish to read them.
Does that make sense?

According to the MW the role of Narrator (section 0) has already been completed. This should include the Dramatis Personae, Synopsis and stage directions for all four acts. Normally the stage directions are read by someone not taking a role in the drama, otherwise it could be confusing.
You need to check what has been done already before someone spends time recording something that has already been done.
Mary Ann can probably advise on this.
Just trying to help.

I would like to read Alcindoro.
I noticed in the descriptions he is listed as a Bass. I would imagine that this is being spoken and not sung, but I can speak in a lower voice for the character.

Thanks Jason! You have been assigned the role. I suppose deeper would be better, but you may read it however you wish. I don't think anyone will mind.jasonb wrote:I would like to read Alcindoro.
