Life of Luther by Gustav A. Just (1847 - 1924). Translated by Frederik William Herzberger (1859 - 1930) and others
This short biography of Martin Luther, by Gustav Just, who taught at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran School, St. Louis, is a standard resource for students, young and old. The first five chapters give a swift moving, succinct overview of church history up to Luther’s time, and the final two chapters deal with the church after Luther’s death. Martin Luther is presented in a favorable, but objective light and his influence appreciated as the primary leader of the Reformation. ( Larry Wilson)
How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

This has been on my list for quite awhile, but I was frustrated because I could not find any information on the author. But, finally perseverance paid off and found one source that at least gave me dates of birth and death. I was also able to track down the translators who are just listed by one initial in the printed book. None of the links are to Wikipedia but to other sources to verify the relevant information.
This is an easy to read biography of Martin Luther, so it should go quickly.

I can set this up - but your link about the author does not work so I can't verify PD or enter them into our database....
Thanks, Todd
Thanks, Todd!
It took me a long time following links to find a reference to the author's dates, and this was what I finally found. His dates are at the bottom of the page in the list. And, sorry I truncated the link when I copied, but I have corrected it in the post, but here it is again:
I'll be happy to serve as DPL but I really don't mean to hog all the good stuff. If someone else doesn't volunteer in a few days, please mark me down for the job.
