Hello!

I notice that Pyotr Petrovitch Luzhin is marked Open in the MW. Is he still available? From some of the comments it seems that at one point there were several people hoping to get him.

If nobody is in line for this character, may I have a shot at him?

I think he's one of the ones I orphaned relatively recently, so he's all yours.

Hi Mary,

I am reviewing Luzhin's lines, and I think I found a couple of places where the dialog may be labeled incorrectly.

Section 12: A line assigned to Luzhin seems actually to be spoken by Zossimov; it sounds like the conclusion to Zossimov's sentence:

Luzhin: "Thank you. But shall I not disturb the invalid by my presence and conversation?"
Narrator: Pyotr Petrovitch asked of Zossimov.
Zossimov: "N-no,"
Narrator: mumbled Zossimov;
Luzhin: "you may amuse him."

Section 22: there is a break in Luzhin's speech that I think should be read by the narrator:

Your son," he turned to Pulcheria Alexandrovna, "yesterday in the presence of Mr. Razsudkin . . .

No. In the original, both "N-no" and "you may amuse him" are spoken in the same speech, i.e. by the same person - Zossimov ("Н-нет, — промямлил Зосимов, — даже развлечь можете, — и опять зевнул." - Part II, Ch V)

I was wrong. You were saying that it was assigned to Luzhin but ought to be Zossimov's, and you are right! Sorry for my "No".

Mary, here is another change for the googledocs.

Section 17 page 3
Narrator: Raskolnikov asked, as though startled. "Then you have not slept either after your journey."
One of the Raskolnikov lines is included for the narrator. The line was read.
