Here's my first Valentine de Villefort chapter! Chapter 51 (12:49)

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/montecristo_valentinedevillefort_51.mp3

This is my first attempt since the one-minute test, so I'm sure will be lots of corrections to be made. Please let me know what I can do to make it better.
Under the name Megan Waldron pls :D

Hi, Putting together my first assigned chapter. Regarding the following:

Set your recording software to:
Channels: 1 (Mono)
Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz

When I export the file in Audacity in FLAC format, it saves automatically at 283kps. When I save anything to mp3 format it always gives me the option to alter bit rate, but apparently not when exporting to FLAC.

Please advise and thanks much.

Hi, it's not a problem, as this will be edited into a bigger file with the right levels in the end. one of the reasons I ask for flac is because the quality is better than with mp3. It also takes a lot more space, which is why we use mp3 in general, but as everything you are recording will be edited into a longer file, I ask for flac from all of you so that it hasn't been compressed to much too many times.

I have to apologize... I missed the instruction to submit files in FLAC. I still have my original uncompressed audio if you would like me to resubmit. Just let me know - thanks!
Matt

EDIT: Please disregard... I checked my submitted files, and they are FLAC. I guess I am better at following directions than I thought I was.

Only the dark, dark night shows to my eyes the stars;
After the clangor of organ majestic, or chorus, or perfect band,
Silent, athwart my soul, moves the symphony true."

Great, I'll have my first submission in later this evening after some cleanup.

Valentine de Villeford chapter 51 is PL OK! Great reading, and keep it up:) I have one suggestion, and that is to rather take your time with the names . Right now some of them sounds a little bit chobby with the names, like you've edited a bit weird. Don't try and rush through the names, and if you need to edit around them, make sure there is a natural breath and pause to it. You've managed it nicely other places. Pm me if you'd like some more help with that:)

(Also, I mixed up two characters, there is no time jump for valentine:P)

Narrator vol 4, chapter 74

00:00 - Missing line at the start - "Volume Four of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. [voice credits] Narrated by…"

Other than that, PL OK, and great reading!
