Since I haven't followed the finances of the story at all, I'm not sure I understand Eugenie's reversal, but I'm sure it's quite sensible. I probably mispronounced her fiance's name - I didn't see him on the pronunciation worksheet.

PL notes for Edmund Dantes, Chapter 1:

@02:23 should be "a packet for Marshal Bertrand" (not a packet of Marshal Bertrand!

)
@04:24 watch the pronunciation of "betrothed"
there is a long gap from 5:32 to 5:43, but I suppose you can close this up when editing?

Chapter 2:

@01:11 watch the pronunciation of "clematis" and "nasturtiums" (nas-tur-shums)
@01:30 the line "what? no wine?" appears in the text twice but is only read once.
@01:36 "yet" should appear twice also. (with these repeated lines I suggest reading them twice, rather than just cutting and pasting, to make them sound slightly different)
@03:50 word missing "but I explained to him the cause..." (this is a nitpicky one, up to you if you want to fix it)
@04:07 misread "I will ask your consent..."

Chapter 3 is PL OK!

And perhaps I could claim Franz D'epinay? I think he's still available...

Hi, no, ni accents needed:) I care more that you manage to sound the right age and fit the part. Great, what kind of part would you like? It's big to tiny left, så feel free to choose, and look at the first post after the main post before you chose:)

In regards to PL, I have decided to do most myself, with a little help from Beth, so Mary Ann, could you put me as DPL? Just so I can keep track?

Thank you very much for your response. I read the main post - it says to save the files as .flac - what does this mean? I have only ever done the recording files as .mp3 so I was not sure about this save format. I use Garage Band as my recording software.

Thanks again for doing this - an amazing and worthwhile project! This is one of my favorite literary works.

I don't quite know how garage band work, but in audacity you export the file and then you can pick what kind of file you want to export as, and there you pick flac.

it's my favorite book, I've been wanting to do it for a while

Here are the updated 46, 47, 65, 66.

For "viscount" I used the pronunciation I heard in a production of Phantom of the Opera, so more of a "vee-cohnt" as opposed to the glaringly English "vice-count" The English really sounded out of place when I first recorded it - especially since Danglars is French.

Also, I had trouble hearing the difference in my "Albert" and the pronunciation guide; however, I think I've got it better. I tried to make it a bit less short "A" and more "ahl-bear." I know I did listen to the guide while recording.

I'm sorry to not have changed to the Baron Danglars. I didn't realize that it was meant to be changed, but thought it was a way to note that they were the same person in finding the lines. I'll add a Baron to the next chapter.

Yeah, for my it's the American "tang" that makes allnthe difference, if that makes any sense. I have to admit that I several times had to stop and listen to the guide again to be sure.

Yeah, the name in the pharanthesis is the one they have in the chapter, whilst the one in front is so you will know it's still him. Like Danglars, who becomes a Baron as a grown man. So for you, the rest of the chapters will be, if I remember right, Baron. And it's no stress, it's fine as long as I have one, and technically I only need one of each, but I found it easier to ask people for every timecthan to explain the whole thing:p

I'll check out the files later today:)

Hi, did you have something on in the background when adding the missing lines? There is some kind of backrgound noise that just completely ruins your otherwise great lines. It's the same with "peasantgirl".

The line with the thunk is: "Of course, your reply was only to please me!"
