Louis XVIII

Chapter 10 -
01:10 - you said "taraheret", should be "traheret"
02:45 - you said "do you forget", should be "did you forget"
03:20 - missing line "Well, well, Dandre"
04:50 - You said "And bearing to this device", should be "And bearing this device"
05:12 - Missing 'the' in "what do you think of the molli anhelitu?"
06:20 - You said "and, hard, pardieu", should be "and, pardieu"

Chapter 11
01:25 - You said "Sir, speak boldly", should be "Speak, sir, speak boldly"
06:47, 07:04 - General Quesnel is pronounced without the s, see here; http://no.forvo.com/search/quesnel/fr/
09:17 - You said "For which you shall", should be "For which you should"
I wanted to get these done - in between the landscapers next door -- but I can't get Forvo to work for me this morning. I'll have to try again later and get these uploaded.

With great reluctance, I need to release my other parts. Several major things have come may way that make it necessary for me to surrender most of my LV time probably through the end of September. That is going to include three weeks out of the country, and the necessary prep time. All good stuff, but competing time demands.
Of course, no problem:)

Sorry I've been slow, will have most of Caderousse voice done within a few days,, I hope.

<<ADDENDUM TO POST>>

In the text, near the bottom of page 10 (of 11) , one of Danglar's lines has been assigned to Caderousse.

"So, then, the wedding is to take place immediately, M. Dantes," said Danglars, bowing
to the young couple.

to which Edmond replies:

"As soon as possible, M. Danglars; to-day all preliminaries...

I see that the Danglars part has already been submitted. I hope the Danglars reader was astute and caught this line in the text. I don't have any wish to read through the 60 pages of comments to see if this was already addressed.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it! If it hasn't been changed, then I haven't been told about it. Let's hope the reader caught it;)

Just checking in to let you know that you'll have a bunch of Narrator uploads in the next few days. They finished doing the construction around my apartment, at least for the time being.

Welcome to LibriVox! Thanks, I will sign you up to Doctor D'avrigny. What Cataloge name would you like to have?

Please make sure you complete the "1 Minute Test" for review before you start actively recording any chapters for projects. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will find the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum so someone can give you feedback on it.

Also, as this is a Dramatic Reading, here's a few tips to make a great recording.
First, try and make sure you have as little background noise as possible. Follow the tips here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Noise_Cleaning.
Second, when recording a part, think of it as having a conversation. How would you naturally speak? read the text and see how the character reacts to the things around him, and if it doesn't say, then try to imagine it yourself. Let the reactions sound in your voice. A line can be read in extremely different ways, depending on if the character is sad or happy, so just remember to pay attention to the text and what is going on around him.
Third, when you edit after you have recorded (you will edit, we all do), leave at least 3-4 seconds between the lines, so that it will be clear when I edit where the break is.

At the Newbie Guide to Recording: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording,you can see how to set up your computer to record.

If you'd like to introduce yourself to the community, you can do se here: http://forum.librivox.org/viewforum.php?f=17

An overview of how Librivox works can be found here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/How_LibriVox_Works

There are numerous ways to volunteer here. An important one is proof-listening, which consists of checking someone's recording for errors. If you'd like to give that a try, you can find lots of information here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Guide_for_Proof-listeners
One of our volunteers has created a number of videos that you might find helpful to learn more about the workings of Librivox. You can find a listing of those here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/User:Philchenevert

Also to point out to professional (or aspiring) Voice Over artists, all our recordings are put back into the public domain which means sometimes they are sold on ebay, etc. Have a look at this page which describes our Public Domain policy: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Copyright_and_Public_Domain

I hope you have fun and please, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

I'm close to done!

In chapter 99 there is a line ("You know that you are, madame," ), that is coloured for Baroness Danglars but I think is actually Villefort. I left it in just in case I'm wrong.

The background noise in chapter 93 is so bad I will have to re-record it, and I still have a fix for chapter 67 to re-record. Those will have to wait until the long weekend is over and fewer motorcycles are zooming by... my new microphone is so good it picks them up!

Thanks! And you are right, it was miscolored, thanks. (Way back when I started this I was waay to eager, which meant I did the text prep just a tad to fast. *annoyed at myself*)
