These look fun. They're already in script form, so the scans aren't a problem. Except that the pages are awfully dark! Still, I may choose one of these for the next one act collection. Thanks!

If you try searching for "dramatic duos" some show up . I haven't checked them for PD status.

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a list of the plays Charles Dickens wrote. So far on the Librivox catalogue I could only find

'Is She His Wife’: https://archive.org/details/isshehiswifeors00dickgoog/page/n3

'Mr Nightingale's Diary’: https://archive.org/details/mrnightingalesdi00dick/page/n1

'The Strange Gentleman’: http://www.archive.org/details/strangegentleman00dickrich

But there must be more!

try searching for "Charles Dickens plays", or "the complete works of Charles Dickens" " Or Wikipedia for Charles Dickens and see if they have a list - they often do. And there is probably a Charles Dickens society with a complete works. Google is very handy :D

Add to your list https://librivox.org/the-village-coquettes-by-charles-dickens/

He didn't really do that many plays. He early on discovered he could do a lot better by selling his stories widely rather than filling a theater with just a coupe hundred people for a few nights.

What is the status of F. Scott Fitzgerald's pre-1920 plays? I know that The Vegetable is currently in production with WiltedScribe, but after some extensive digging on Google it turns out Fitzgerald wrote a BUNCH of short one-act plays that seem(?) to never have been published.

There is a website that hosts all of his pre 1920s works, some even from his freshman years. If you look at the link for drama scripts: http://fitzgerald.narod.ru/idrama.html you will find a whole host of one-act plays
- The Girl from Lazy J (1911)
- The Captured Shadow (1912)
- The Coward (1913)
- Assorted Spirits (1914)
- Shadow Laurels (1915)
- Precaution Primarily (1917)
- The Debutante (1917 and 1919 version) *This one-act play has been incorporated in This Side of Paradise novel.
- Porcelain and Pink (A One-Act Play) (January 1920)
- Mister Icky: The Quintessence of Quaintness in One Act (March 1920)
- This is a Magazine (1920)

Does anyone know about the PD status of these, or know where I can find out?

The "never published" part (or "published later" if it applies) will be an issue to get a clear copyright clearance on.

If they can be found on Gutenberg.org or HathiTrust.org, then we'll trust them. But taking some website's word for it (a Russian one?) isn't going to be suffice. And I'm not sure how one would go about copyright-clearing something like this. That's beyond my pay grade.

Thanks Tricia. I’ve done some research and if you go to the Play suggestions forum we’ve made some headway on all of the plays.

There are just a few one act plays by Moliere left that we have not done yet (though of course anyone who wants to can do a repeat offering of anything to offer "choice of voice!"). These could be good candidates for One Act Play Collections such as #13 underway now, where I will be delighted to offer assistance in case you want to try running a play.

La Jalousie du barbouillé (1650)—The Jealousy of le Barbouillé
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/27074

Sganarelle ou Le Cocu imaginaire (28 May 1660)—Sganarelle, or the Imaginary Cuckold
https://archive.org/stream/dramaticworksren01moliuoft#page/n232/mode/1up
also on Gutenberg as ebooks 5644 and 6681

La Critique de l'école des femmes (1 June 1663)—Critique of the School for Wives https://archive.org/stream/dramaticworksren01moliuoft#page/407/mode/1up

Le Mariage forcé (29 January 1664)—The Forced Marriage
https://archive.org/stream/dramaticworksren01moliuoft#page/469/mode/1up

Le Sicilien ou L'Amour peintre (14 February 1667)—The Sicilian, or Love the Painter
https://archive.org/stream/dramaticworksofm04moliiala#page/38/mode/2up

There are also a number of Pinero One Acts not done here yet. I have not tracked down links for these yet, becuz there are a whole lot (25+) of multi-act Pinero plays still to go as separate projects. (The numbers below are dates, not ebook #)

1877 Two Hundred a Year
1877 Two Can Play at That Game
1879 Daisy's Escape
1880 Hester's Mystery
1880 Bygones
1912 The Widow of Wasdale Head
1918 Monica's Blue Boy
1922 A Seat in the Park
1928 A Private Room [given date, not US PD for a few more years]

Even better than the Santa Claus play are the ads for various other plays that are part of the file!! I need to find some of them.

Sganarelle would be an interesting one as the character of Sganarelle, played by Moliere himself, became so popular with audiences that he reappeared in several subsequent plays.

Question: Are there any one act plays by early playwrights? Greek, Roman, Elizabethan, Restoration, etc, etc? Much of what we have seems to be from 1800s to early 1900s....

Thanks, Todd
