Mercator; The Merchant, by Titus Maccius Plautus (254 BCE - 184 BCE), translated by Henry Thomas Riley (1816 - 1878)
Unaware that the woman Pasicompsa is his son's mistress, since the son says that he has brought her home to be his mother's attendant, an aged Athenian falls desperately in love with her. Rather than bring her into his house and have his wife find out, he has his neighbor house her. But then the neighbor's wife returns - and the son also discovers where his love has been hidden. Confusing? Only intentionally! (Summary by ToddHW)
Here comes another one.

And our DPL will be Adrian Stephens! Hooray!

Gender neutral, of course.

I think I could pretend to be aged, so may I take Lysimachus, an aged Athenian?

Unlike Larry I don't have to pretend to sound aged, so could I read the role of Demipho?

Cheers

By the way, I found a lovely summary of all of Plautus's plays at https://www.usu.edu/markdamen/ClasDram/playreviews/section4/plautus.pdf . We have done about half of them so far.

Thanks, Todd
