Hello, and here is my reading of Coppinger Drake's part from Act 3. It was a really fun role to record - I hope that you like it! :D

I totally liked it  congrats to your first LV recording and your first drama role. I can hear you enjoyed this and I hope we'll hear you in plenty more plays (lots to choose from still !)

You portrayed him so sneeringly and blasé, totally accurate in my opinion. Though now hearing him, I cannot imagine how Florence could ever fall for that guy  Ah well, she will never learn.

Excellently done, there is only one small part to add:

> at about 1:04: (p. 127) missed line: "Eh ?"

simply reupload with the same filename, then the old file gets replaced by the new one.

Just one note for future roles: to make the editor's task of copy/pasting easier, could you please leave a bit more space between your quotes ? We suggest at least 2 seconds of silence, so he has enough space to fiddle with and find "new" quotes. This is also when the stage directions appear inside your speeches. The narrator will say these directions, so you also need to leave enough space there. You don't have to add more space this time, it's just as a reminder for your next role :)

Thank you

Thanks for the kind feedback, Sonia! I'm so happy that you liked it! I was going for sort of a smarmy "Prince Charming" vibe, so I'm glad that it worked out!

Since I needed to record the line I missed from page 127 anyway, I went ahead and added longer gaps between the quotes to make the editor's job a little easier. Here's the new upload...

Have a fantastic finish to your week! :D

ah it was not necessary to do more gaps this time, but well, since you did, I rechecked it all one more time. Everything PL ok now. You still missed a few gaps for stage directions ;) but definitely no need to reupload. Todd will manage, no worries.

Thank you and hope to hear you soon in another play 8-)

Hi

Hilda's coming soon. She's just in post production. Apologies it's taken a bit long, but not long now....

Hopefully, I'll get most acts, if not all, in by tomorrow.

frecklefriday wrote: May 24th, 2022, 8:38 amHi there, here's the part of Frédéric in Act 3! Let me know if you need anything changed! :)
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/letty_frederic_3.mp3
super, wonderfully portrayed and your French is absolutely great. Poor Frédéric, he has to fight a lot with unwilling customers

Two small things to edit only:

> for the voice credit, could you please always include the full description, which you can see in the MW, here: "Frederic, A Maitre d'Hotel, read by..."

> at 2:38: (p. 167) "that we find it impossible to serve the poussins" - you say "poisson", which is fish, "poussin" however is a young chicken

thanks

Sonia
Note that we can live without getting these things fixed since the reader is not around.

Thanks, Todd

Act 4 for Hilda: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/letty_hilda_4.mp3 (8:13)

Apologies. I never got round to Act 1 today, it's the longest for Hilda. I will continue on tomorrow to get it done.

excellent job Jamie, thank you so much. Hilda is a bit of an airhead meseems  the evil influence for Letty, or trying to be. You portray her very accurately, I really enjoyed it.

Acts 2, 4 and Epilogue are PL ok right away.

Two missed quotes in Act 3 however:

> at about 3:00: (p. 164) please insert: "Bless them both" and "You old darling". And one more note on your spaces. Whenever there are stage directions inside your speech, like here for example, you also need to leave enough space for the editor to fiddle with. I noticed you never did that in your files. No need to go back now and reupload, Todd will manage as they are not glued too tight together. But it does help to have a longer space each time your speech is broken, either by another character or by the narrator. So careful there for future plays.

Thanks

Hilda has arrived :-)

Act 1 - https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/letty_hilda_1.mp3 (11:41)
Act 3 changed - https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/letty_hilda_3.mp3 (4:06)

There's a pronunciation that I'm not quite sure of on Act 1 - the word "recherchy". I did it in a pretentious tone (because well, Hilda). If it should be pronounced in another way, please just let me know.
