Molière's stage directions are always a walk in the park compared to the monster Pinero is. Nicely done, Jim, thank you so much.

Only one bit missing at the beginning:

> at 0:09: you forgot the intro disclaimer after the name of the play: "This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." (don't we all recite this in our sleep already ?)

Here's prudish and easily shocked Climene  my, I had fun with this character. She is so over-the-top scandalized by the merest hints of improprieties. One must think "honi soit qui mal y pense" Sometimes I had a hard time not laughing about my bouts of outrage.

This will be an excellent play. A worthy ending to our Molière spree.

Wish I could listen but it will have to wait until I am on something other than a phone to do the PL.

Thanks, Todd

If it's still open, may I round of the cast and claim Dorante?

Thanks

Thanks Kitty,

I presume we're going for the French pronunciation of Marquis (Mar-kee)?

Also for consistency, I want to check on pronunciation of Lysidas - I see it as Lie-sid-as. Is that correct?

I personally would have both pronounced that way too, but I cannot speak for the other readers.

We generally treat pronunciation of names with quite a lot of leeway. See it as personal taste and quirk of each reader to call someone the way they want, while others may pronounce them differently. As long as you stay consistent within your role with the same pronunciation of a name, it's acceptable.

I still fondly remember a Pinero play where our cast came up with at least 6 or 7 different variants on how to pronounce the name Imogen

I don't know what "honi soit qui mal y pense" means, but I really liked your outrage; PL OK. I may have to go reread the original play to which this refers so I can better get the jokes.

Thanks, Todd
