Tomas and Kelly,
I've marked PL Okay for Adrastus, Acts 2 and 4. In Act 2, at 5:19 there is a repetition of the words "What generous source..." but I think it can be edited out. Excellent reading, Tomas!

Act 2 is PL Okay....and that should do it! I think the pacing is very good and your interpretation of Ion does convey his youth and emotions to me. Well done, everyone, and thank you!

Thank you -- Yes, once we had all the parts in place, I felt better about my reading of the role. At first, I thought that my voice made Ion sound way too young and far too naive, but after we added in Wiltedscribe's marvelously rich and spot-on reading of Adrastus, it made more sense to me. His interpretation fully revealed the character of the king as an almost monstrous, complex figure whose self-destructive cynicism overwhelms everyone who comes in contact with him. Phocion (who Andrew voiced beautifully) is the kind of character who would normally be the hero of a play from the 1830s - 50s. Adrastus just mows right over him. He makes fun of Crythes, Agenor, Medon, and the other sages -- who would also be heroes and important advisors in other Victorian era-plays. Their strength, wisdom, and virtue -- which our cast portrayed wonderfully -- makes no impression on him at all. Adrastus is so deeply enmeshed in his own bitterness and corruption that it takes someone as ethereal and out of the ordinary as Ion just to get his attention.

Thank you to everyone! This project was a good example of the maxim "There are no small roles..." Every scene was filled with excellent, thoughtful readings even if the role provided a few lines to establish the outlines of a character's personality and situation -- For example, Joanna did a great job of bringing to life Irus, whose tragic story gives us a glimpse of plague-stricken Argos. Jake made the most of a short scene to give life to the uncertain existence of a palace guard. Will and Peter were wonderfully vivid as the sages Cleon and Timocles despite only having a few lines to work with.
