Hi--
I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of town from July 18-23 so my PL duties won't progress as usual. I'll try to check in and do what I can. Thanks for understanding. :D

Thanks to all who have contributed so far to Cyrano de Bergerac. I've been busy editing what's been recorded so far for the first three acts -- and Act 1, as I've said before, is a monster. Special thanks to JoannaHoyt, mightyfelix, ktaylor07, and ToddHW for the various crowd noises that are needed -- anyone who is still going to record for Act 1 who wants to be part of the crowd, please include the lines for "The Crowd", "All", "Voices", etc.

I still need many, many more voices to complete Act 1. I'd like to do this as much as possible without doubling within the act, so please claim any of the following parts. The number after each is how many lines or line fragments for each role:

First Cavalier 5
Second Cavalier 2
First Lackey 5
Second Lackey 4
Guardsman 4
Man 1
Citizen 19
Second Man 2
The Boy 5
Second Page 3
Third Page 2
Cut-Purse 13
Spectator 3
Voice 3
First Marquis 23
Cuigy 19
Second Marquis 11
Brissaille 4
First Violin 2
Second Violin 1
A Lady/Woman 3
A Noble 1
Bellarose 6
Jodelet 7
A Meddler 23
Valvert 20
Musketeer 1
Second Comedienne 1

All roles are gender-neutral. Thanks.

Hi Mike and Lori,
This is the preface, the volume comes in a little low and it clocks at 21:16. A challenging but fun read.

-Brissaile Act I/II
-Bellerose Act I
-The Meddler Act I

Thank you!

Welcome to LibriVox! You are very welcome to read for this project.

Since you haven't recorded for LibriVox before: Before you read for any projects, can you first submit the "1-Minute Test" to the Listeners Wanted forum to make sure technical settings are correct, etc. The directions are here http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. Then I'll be happy to have you be part of the project!

For now, I'm only letting readers in this play read one character in an act. Cuigy and Brissaille especially need to be read by separate people, since they enter together and are always involved in the same scenes. Let me know which of these characters you'd like, and I'll sign you up as soon as you've submitted your one-minute test.

I'll take Cuigy! Also, I believe I submitted my one-minute test when I followed the link on the instructions page a couple weeks ago - however I'd be willing to redo it if it didn't go through the first time!

When you uploaded your test, did you also post in the Listeners Wanted forum with the link to your test? You won’t get any feedback from it unless you do that.
