And here are Helen's last two acts:

So glad I had the chance to read this role! Figuring out what's an aside is a bit tricky, though. :)

Thanks,
Wendy

I had some trouble with that too! There were several lines that I had to re-record because I only figured out after I had spoken them that they were thoughts not dialogue.
This play was a big change in that way from "You Never Can Tell" by George Bernard Shaw. Shaw - an Edwardian - practically dictates line readings to you in the stage directions for each piece of dialogue.

I also continually got tripped up by the Victorian faux-Shakespearean double negatives -- "Would not he not have known?" and that sort of thing. I don't think anyone ever actually talked like that in the history of ever.

As melodramas go, though, Helen and Julia are very nicely written parts for women. They have a lot of spunk! I'm looking forward to hearing how this play comes together!

Here's act 4. I realized while editing this that I have probably been doing something wrong in the earlier acts. When reading cues such as "Wal. [Entering]" I have simply read "Walter, Entering." But in other parts of the stage directions where abbreviations are not used he is always called Master Walter, not just Walter. So I added "Master" to the Walter cue in this act. Let me know if I should go back and do that in the first 3 acts as well. Sorry I didn't think to ask before. I can make the fixes quickly, and I'll edit and upload act 5 as soon as I know how I should be doing this.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I think I would prefer to have him identified as "Master Walter." Thanks for catching this!

Not too much trouble at all. Will reupload corrected files tomorrow. Sorry I missed that at first.

Act 2 stage directions didn't require correction. Acts 1 and 3 correctly uploaded; acts 1-4 are now ready for PL. Thanks for your patience.
