Mike,

I was in this play in college (a different translation, which actually, I liked a lot better, but it is not PD, soooo...).

I would like to claim the part I did in college, however he doesn't seem to be in the MW, at least I couldn't find it after looking for it again and again.

That part is Montfleury. His first lines are in Act I, scene III (bottom of page 18) and he continues into scene IV.

May I have that role?

Thanks,

Wayne

Edit: When I first went to Hathi Trust, I clicked on the oldest text available, 1898, as you didn't note which translation you were going to use. The one I really like is the 1923 version, and that would seem to be PD if I am correct. Just let me know what's up.

W

Edit #2: Well, I finally did my 'due diligence' and figured out that you are doing the 1923 version by listening to your rendition of Cyrano and reading along. With all of that, I still would like to do Montfleury .  :D  In this one, his first lines are towards the top of page 26.

Wayne,

Montfleury is yours. Have fun with the role!

Yes, we are doing the 1923 Hooker translation.

Mike,

Well here is my part: https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/cyranodebergerac_montfleury_1.mp3

Like I thought in College, a very small role, but one that precipitates indirectly one of the great monologues in literature, one I have done as well. It was 55 years ago I did it, and still remember about 80% of it.

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi Mike,
I will need access to the MW to mark sections PL Okay unless you'd rather do that.

Thanks,

Hi Wayne,
Please check me on this PL note. I believe there is one line missing, just before your last line "Perhaps I'd better..." The line is "I really think Gentlemen--"

Thank you,
Lora

I think we need the MC, mightyfelix, to grant access. I'll send her a message.
