Through crashes untold and hardships unnumbered (mainly a sticky keyboard and a preference for keyboard shortcuts...), I have edited my way here, to the completed project beyond multiple parts to present "In the Shadow of the Glen" by John Millington Synge for PL.

Shakespeare ready for PL in Roadhouse.
Note that the Cast List says Master William, nor Sir William as in MW. I recorded Master.

May I read the stage directions for The Roadhouse in Arden?
I haven't done stage directions before. Todd, I appreciate your clear guidance back on page 1 about the only circumstances under which names should be read. I do have one other question. Should i read out line descriptions like "Timidly" or "Solemnly," or should I understand those to be prompts to the voice actor which don't need to be read out for the listener?

I read all of those actor prompts as part of stage directions when I do them. It is true that I often remove many of them as an editor, but sometimes audio alone is not enough to portray the requested emotion. There may on stage be facial expressions or whole body posture/movements that add to the voice in conveying what the author wants. So I do leave some of these directions in the final product.JoannaHoyt wrote: ↑April 16th, 2021, 5:49 pm May I read the stage directions for The Roadhouse in Arden?

Always easiest to record everything so the editor can decide later.
