Nice to see you back, Sara! :D

I can take sections 1 and 2. Also, I noticed that some words on pp. 217-218 are illegible.

Michael

Thank you Michael - you're in!

I have found another version of the book and changed the textlink. There are several more on archive if this one has missing bits as well.

I have uploaded the preface. :D

And: I'd like to apologize upfront because I must have butchered all those names of the old rulers and the historians...
I know we don't usually mention pronunciation, but if you find something totally cringeworthy, let me know and I'll (try to) fix it.

Hi, Ava!

What an excellent narration. :9: I can't praise you enough. It's such an honor to be your PLer.

Kudos to you for pronouncing all the Arabic names. You haven't butchered them at all.

I have very tiny PL notes.

@3:48 - fellahin. I hear kh

@08:11 - Carry us back I hear take us back.

Other than that, you have done it perfectly.

How long did it take to record this section? You make it seem effortless.

Awww, you're so sweet... :9:

I usually delete the raw recording when I'm done with editing, but I think it was half an hour or so. It took me quite a while trying to look up pronunciations for the names but mostly had to wing it anyway...
Do you know an arabic pronunciation dictionary or website that we could link to perhaps? It might be useful for our readers.

Anyway, I fixed and reuploaded the preface. Hope it passes muster this time.

My pleasure! :9:

WOW. I only delete all files (raw and final version) when the recordings are on LibriVox. You did an awesome job!!

I searched. And this is what I've found: PL Ok

I'm so happy to see that you'll record another section. I'm looking forward to hearing that.

Brilliant narration! You've done it perfectly. :9: I hope that I'll reach your level one day.

I have a tiny PL Note.

@28:00 - sufficient air, and permit an outlook without allowing. Missed the bold section.

As for those, they are extra, feel free to ignore them.
@18:27 - his own home. I hear house

@29:58 - but in old houses. I hear homes

I'm just mentioning them in case you want to correct them. But you don't have to because they pretty much mean the same thing.

I'm so looking forward to listening to part 2.

P.S. Happy LibriVox Anniversary. :birthday:
