i think he is born musician and he is a theremin solist in concertos and playing since a young age.
he doesn't play music, he lets it feel you.

the instrument was invented in 1920 - so maybe there is not much to read...

it must be so fascinating to play it as a musician...

i heard, it is one of the most difficult instruments because you have just your movements in the air with no reference points but optically/ the view, no notes to play, just the sound in combination with volume or better: you can remember the hand and body positioning.

i doubt i will ever buy one to try it, but it is so stunning to listen to...
at least Grégoire Blanc and he plays with half closed eyes most times - unbelievable.

maybe, i will look up some books to host... we should have one in the catalogue.
there must be some books existing in german and in english for sure.
but i think, the bc should be a musician.

I am not a musician at all. I have a instructional dvd. You have to "tune" it every time by adjusting it so that it doesn't make any noise when you are just standing close to it. Then when you find that spot, you have to discover where the scale is and visualize it as an invisible vertical keys. It changes. I just play a few songs like Somewhere over the Rainbow. I like to improvise with it. The left hand is the volume. I can understand him closing his eyes because it takes all your attention (no singing along-haha).
He was a marvel. He experiments with a larger instrument that a dancer could play with her whole body.
I would be happy to BC a Theremin book.

Happily, the neighbors are too far away to hear it. Or at least they would never complain to the crazy lady about the strange sounds coming from her house.
