They've been doing a retrospective of the Australian bushfires from earlier this year.

Note the streams of solidified molten metal running away from the melted car.

The darnedest thing is, the eucalypt trees will probably resprout.

Eucalypts are a great example of evolution based on bushfires. They produce seeds that only sprout after the heat of the fire, the fire clears all the undergrowth (and those pesky Koalas that eat the new leaves ). The oil they give off encourages the flames and their trunks survive to sprout again.

This is an absolutely fantastic picture!

I guess the metal is lead (if batteries still have lead in them?) or aluminium, which has a melting point of 600 degrees Celsius. You can still see the iron carcass because iron has a melting point that's twice as high.

And on my research for this post, I found out that the metal with the highest melting point is Tungsten (think lightbulbs) and the three with the lowest are Selenium (217), Phosphorus (44) and of course, Mercury (-39).

The streams appear to originate from the wheel hubs, so it's probably an aluminium-magnesium alloy, these two elements having similar melting points.
